Is anyone familiar with IF bets and whether they might help here?

Atlanta is the value play in my opinion. 4-1 odds to win NFC and according to Vegas, are a better football team than Dallas. 2nd best in the league behind NE.

Thoughts....I'd prefer not to bet money line against my picks for I like the idea of taking the points with ability to win both. What about taking the point spreads on the two teams I pick against (roughly +5.5 for each) for $1K each. Below are the possible outcomes...
1) I win both my pool picks but loose both ATS picks = $8,333-$1,100-$1,100 = $6,133 2) I win both my pool picks and both ATS spreads (picks win but don't cover) = $8,333+$1,000+$1,000=$10,333 3) Win win both pool picks but win just one ATS pick = $8,333+$1,000-$1,100 = $8,233 4) I lose in the pool but win both ATS bets = $1,000+$1,000=$2,000 5) I lose in the pool and win one ATS bet = -$100 Thoughts? Worst case I lose $100, best case I win somewhere between $6,133 and $10,333 or even a lot more if others are eliminated

$25 entry fee. All on sportsbook.ag. Believe it or not I also have a entry left in a $25K survivor pool. Currently 26 entries in that pool left but much smaller payout so not worrying about hedging that contest.
Originally 12372 entrants which equals to $309K in entry's so pretty good rake for the site but I'm not upset.

I appreciate the pick advice. Still deciding on best picks but more importantly am looking on a hedging strategy.

I'd have to say the Skins not just considering it's the biggest fav on your list at -8, but most of the ML as well as spread is on the Giants. So to get the points AND be against the public, usually a good bet.

Hi Everyone and Happy Holidays, I'm in search of advice on whether it's possible to hedge a survivor pool in week 17 when I need to make 2 picks. The top prize is $100,000 which will be split amongst those left after the week...currently 12 left. I want to assume everyone picks correctly so worst case pool is split evenly netting me $8,333. I would like to walk away with a minimum of $2K but am unsure the best way to hedge when I must make 2 picks (if it's even possible). 1:00 PM Games Jacksonville @ Indy (-4.5) Chicago @ Minnesota (-4.5) Carolina @ Tampa Bay (-6) 4:25 PM Game Oakland @ Denver (-2) Please reply with suggestions on how to make this a profitable survivor pool. Thanks for any and all assistance. |

They really lead you to believe all you need to do is have perfect season to win grand prize. Had NO idea that it is split amongst all winners and if their are a certain number of entries left after week 14, you have to select 3 picks. WTF? Well so much for hedging and so much for ever doing this contest again.

Furthermore, the 25k is split amongst all remaining survivors at season's end.....best of luck going forward. Below are the terms... Predict an NFL winner weekly and win $25,000 in our popular Survivor Pool contest. Enter today and place a game-winning pick every week of the 2016 NFL Season to win a massive $25K payday. Your entry is just $5 and you can increase your chances of winning by purchasing additional entries for $5. In all, you can purchase up to 20 entries. Also, check out the Best Value Bonus package. Ready to Play? Here's how it works: Every week of the NFL Season you must select a team to win its game outright. Whether that team covers the spread is irrelevant, they must simply win the game. If your team wins, your entry remains alive and you advance to select a team the next week. If your team loses, your entry is eliminated from the competition. Choose carefully though, because once you select a team you cannot select them again for that entry. So, if you select the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1, you cannot use them the rest of the season for that entry. Use your football knowledge and football foresight to survive and claim the $25,000 prize.. Doesn't state anything about splitting |

I will after this, I do like sportsbookag just because of their survivor pool challenge but I guess we'll have to wait and see how I really feel.

For the sake of argument, let's assume they will pay out (very slowly but eventually I'm able to cash), are my thoughts on the hedging strategy accurate or would there be a better way to go about it?

I also have 2 other survivor pools alive, another for the $25K prize and another for $100k prize. Decent shot I win one of those as well. Praying that it's not as bad as some of the reviews out there.

I'm certainly hoping you're wrong shua, it will be a pain to withdraw it $2500 at a time with a 3% fee each time and the issues with depositing it in us bank/taxes but I'll save that for another thread. As for flying to vegas, it's certainly a pain to do, but I think I'd trust that more than putting $8250 into online sportsbook and the pain of withdrawing.

Hi everyone. First post here but any and all help with my dilemma is much appreciated. With KC winning, I'm 3 picks away from a perfect survivor pool on sportsbookag which will pay $25K. I'm pretty confident in my week 15 (ATL or BUF both 10+ point favorites) and 17 (PIT vs CLE should be 10+ spread) picks but week 16 will be more difficult. I'll have a few options, DAL, OAK, GB and LA (most should be 4-6 point favs). I'm looking for some hedging advice. Ideally I'd at least like to walk away with $7500. What I'm thinking, assuming I can win next week, is fly to vegas for week 16 and put a $7500 bet ($8250 with vig) on the spread of whichever team I pick against. By taking the spread vs money line, I have the ability of winning both bets. If I happen to win both, I'll fly back for week 17 and do the same thing to try and maximize win. If I happen to lose the 8,250 bet but win pick, I can also fly back week 17 and try another similar hedge. Let me know your thoughts/advice. Thanks
