contenders are only getting 14% of the Latino vote when matched up against Obama, GOP cant just rely on their white majority, new immigrants are not being courted by them in any way.

its white minority and latino majority

This country is turning into the guy who promises and delivers the most free shit wins (that goes for social programs and corp favors) and both parties are guilty of it

bye bye USA....you will be missed

hey Mik, its been a long time

I have no issue with legal Latinos or any legal immigrants for that matter.

My great grandparents were legal immigrants

My issue is with the nanny state mentality..

I have not heard a single anti-immigrant stance from any of the GOP hopefuls.
Maybe you could link to an example.

I know that they are pretty solidly against Illegal immigration, which is ILLEGAL!

Well i am firmly in your court regarding illegal immigrants. I am well and pleased that we have limited that in Denmark.

Also if someone comes here illegally, they will be put into an enclosed camp while they await their pending case.

We are within 20 years of Latinos become what blacks were in the late 80's.  A potentially great race reduced to welfare and entitlements.  Wow, lets destroy ourselves more.

In the next few decades we will see either the death of hundreds of millions of muslims or the end of the west.

The significance of this was that with bush in 2004 the latino community opposed same sex marriage resulting in more latino votes...  Bush also seemed to support illegals working in america because it was advantageous to those that could afford to hire them...

I think that latinos need to ask themselves what Obama has done specifically them and they would find the answer is absolutely nothing... just like he has for other minorities...

So a simple GOP/teaparty strategy to get latinos who voted for obama to bail was simply keep quiet...  But instead they have made immigration an issue and the whole "birther" thing which at one time was simply a way of throwing one's hat into the ring for a GOP nomination probably is a huge turn off also...

But I guess immigration and "birther conspiracies" have been one of the back bones of the GOP/teaparty message so it appeals to it own preaching to the choir...

You are even more clueless than I thought. I haven't heard one serious GOP strategy involving the birther issue. That is just retarded of you to infer. The birther thing has been succesfully buried. Not proven, just buried

The strategy is smaller government, reformed entitlements, reduce spending.

The fact that you still think the birther issue is hot stove shows how clueless you are.

Clueless I say. You are less objective than Friedshrimp.

what do you think about my point?

that the GOP/teaparty have misplayed the opportunity to gain the latino voters that once voted for GW bush...

I remember that one of the first GOP attacks of Obamacare was that it would cover illegal immigrants and that anything Obama said to the contrary was false and that he was a liar...

It was basically channeling the anti-immigrant sentiment to be paired with the initial talk of obama care...

I think it was successful in in 2010 in gaining a legislative majority designed to black obamacare... but at the cost of of the 2012 presidency when it comes to latino voters that are sensitive to the whole illegal immigrant rhetoric...

but with latinos being a minority in voters it might be advantageous to be anti-latino to appeal to the majority and win the election... so perhaps I am incorrect in calling it a misplay

illegal immigrants can go to the ER anytime and not have to pay a dime anyway.

I feel like the GOP aren't targeting latinos at all they concede the latino vote mostly. There are plenty of latinos that know full well the GOP stance on imigration and the ones that are here legally are probably smart enough to want their peers to be here legally too...because they compete for the same jobs.

we have already had the birther discussion on the thread where you had the melt down...

you can call me retarded or clueless, only signs that you have to try be insulting because you are not able to adequately debate your point...

I am not saying the birther is relevant now... I am saying that the indulgence in the birther rhetoric starting in 2008 has negatively effected the latino vote because of the illegal immigrant/deportation/immigration association to the sentiment behind the strategy...  I recognize both the pros and cons of the birther strategy...
