Just imagine. The fire hydrants in LA and surrounding areas will have water for the firehoses hooked up to fire hydrants! Was that really and truly too much to ask for as The City of Angels burned to the ground?

Sundance started the thread "Quote of the day"

then posted(#1) NYC Eric Adams..... so the quote is about Mayor Adams.  then the thread went the way of sorts to Cali wildfires probably because there wasn't much more topic about Adams.  but the thread started about him and I'm a NYer so I offered a knowledgeable opinion

the actual quote was for Adams to stand down on his pushback with all the busses of undocumented coming into the city with no heads up

It kind of stated the lookup on his personal stuff and his life snowballed for the worst.  If he just 'minded his words' publicly he would be in a better position right now.  When you push back against the Gov't (either side) you open yourself up 

The following is from Robert F Kennedy Jr.

'When my uncle was POTUS, only 3% of the population was obese. Today it's 76%.'

Not arguing with the fact obesity in our country. However, the % quoted is not corrected.

In the 60's it was 13% not 3% & currently the rate is about 40% not 76%.

 Yeah.  I think they just meant 'overweight' in general.  Including, obese, severely obese and just overweight.

For example:

The National Center for Health Statistics estimates that, for 2015–2016 in the U.S., 39.8% of adults aged 20 and over were obese (including 7.6% with severe obesity) and that another 31.8% were overweight.

But one good thing is that it seems to have leveled off, or at least is no longer growing.

It's the reason COVID was so bad in the US. That and smoking.

best part of his brother Robert’s genes ran down his leg the moment Jr was conceived! ….As would the vast majority of the Kennedy clan !

Didn't know what continuity of government mission was myself. See several outlets explain it to their readers. And he didn't "chime in", he was asked by a reporter and Trump, unlike Biden, actually answers questions rather than singing happy birthday to someone he doesn't know.
