I am sure you guys that think the IRS scandal was nothing completely accept the fact that central figures in the investigation have lost pertinent Emails to the inquiry?

Or will you claim that this is some sort of conspiracy theory.

my opinion was and still is, having dealt with the irs quite often, it's one of the most dysfunctional, slow, inefficient and poorly run organizations around.  i can't even comprehend the idea that they could pull off some plan to target certain groups involving higher up people in the government and keep it secret for any period of time.  i don't even know how they figure out how to open their mail.

A government agency using their position of power to silence those they don't agree with...

    Nothing to see here.

And then just happen to lose all the emails from 6 people that could link this to the WH or Dems in Congress. No, no coverup at all.

Wouldn't it be a riot if the NSA has these emails and it eventually got Obama impeached!
This scenario would be the only time in my memory that government worked.

Sigh… I wish Obama would just directly address the situation. Just let it all out publicly...

If I was Obama, I would come out and say I did it with a defiant look on my face, or expose the ones that did it, just to shut everyone the fukk up, already…

Obama should create a right-wing address. During the address, the president can go over the republican nutcase theory of the week and address as many as batsh!t-retarded theories as possible in an hour…

I could see the presidents list of topics for the right-wing address…

    Where’s your REAL birth certificate?
    Were you BORN in Kenya?
Were you PLANTED in the White House by the Men in Black?
    Are you an African-witch doctor?
Where are your “alleged” (wink-wink)… children’s baby pictures?
    Who is your REAL father?
Where did you ACTUALLY go to college?
Is Global Warming a leftist plot?
Why do you seriously hate America?
Were you created in a secret laboratory?
Are you a member of the Muslim Brotherhood?

This is why I can't take anything republicans say seriously. I wish Abe Lincoln and Thaddeus Stevens were around to see what the once prestigious and honorable Republican Party has become…

A black man gets in the white house and white people go freaking bananas. I have no clue why the president ignores republicans? I would publicly address them. This would be comedy gold…

Rick, the problem is the right has NO credibility at all whatsoever. Plus, I need to see a legitimate pattern of evidence. I need to see a credible messenger and some legitimate evidence laid out in order for me to take this sh!t scandal seriously…

It all feels like some silly childish prank that snow balled out of control. The kids didn’t really do something all that bad but are making it worse by not owning up to it. I don’t see a Nixon scandal. I see a three stooges episode in my head…

Using the power of government to try to silence the opposition is a PRANK??

Dafuq. The level of obama ball washing around here is insane. The left has no credibility whatsoever at this point. Nothing but partisan hacks.

When you read about operation chokepoint and the targeted use against this admin's enemies and see the lengths that the IRS has gone to destroy evidence, you would have to be a rabid Obamapologist to look the other way.

Initially I didn't give this "scandal" too much weight and figured it would be a few localized incidents of fukking with whatever non profit they didn't agree with. Slap some wrists and move on...

But after much stonewalling and now they are trying to tell Congress the emails disappeared and are not retrievable it gives the perception it is probably a much more significant issue.

Emails deleted in a computer glitch? That is just absurd, there must be something very incriminating that somebody made the concious decision to feed us blatant lie  than actually provide the information requested.

My old company I worked for was run on a shoe string and just as mismanaged as the IRS. Our servers were built with duct tape, rubber bands, paper clips and hamsters but when needed "lost" emails could be provided within minutes when necessary.

This lost email story is complete crap. It is backed up somewhere. Subpoena the recipients emails then or were those lost too?

We have too much apathy and have been numbed to all these little government fukk ups. To the people who think well it doesn't effect me who cares. Sure in the big picture sure who cares but the reality is a constant chipping away of our freedom and rights one little chip at a time because we let them sweep this sh!t under the rug.

This is a really worthwhile post (and eeyore's post above too, leaving partisanship behind and focusing solely on the current state of affairs).

As to the issues above, how much time, money, resources, energy, paper, etc. has been devoted to these insane matters?

Here is my point. Several years ago, I informed Democratic candidates I supported that I would not vote for any candidate nor donate to any candidate that did not distance themselves from some comments that Democratic candidates were making that then-President Bush should be arrested and tried for treason.

In my opinion, it was up to the Democrats to quiet such damaging and polarizing talk. Silence was an assent.

I hold Republicans to the same standard and have circulated the same. Attack Obama on issues, positions, conduct is fine. The where he was born, birth certificate, religion, etc. is just as assinine as the Bush stuff.

And the same, silence is an assent to that type of behavior.

So according to money- since there have been other issues that the republicans brought up that never amounted to anything, this should automatically make us dismiss the seriousness of the IRS e mails? Lol

Every conspiracy I read seems to come from Fox News, Alex Jones and Breitbart News followers…

Is Obama secretly Muslim? Click here for full story…

Is Obama using the IRS and his team of super villains to target tea partiers? Click here for full story…

I’m supposed to take supermarket tabloid style propagandists seriously?

HighScore... I have yet to see anything that says this is to be taken seriously. Show me a serious messenger and serious evidence with a story to take seriously...

What I hate about this is what you’re saying is that people should censor themselves from saying their true feelings or distance themselves from people who share similar feelings to win an election...

I hate that with a passion. I want a politician that speaks from the heart not some fake and phony politician that will say or do whatever it takes to win...

The Bush stuff wasn’t asinine at all. All of it was completely legitimate. Show me something that was said about Bush that wasn’t true? The stuff about Obama is all bigoted and racist BS.

Yes. It’s a federal initiative to crack down on fraud. It has nothing to do with Obama and his team of mastermind super-villains sitting in the Obama-cave plotting to takeout tea partiers…

Am I disturbed by this? Sure. Do I know for sure what is actually going on? No... No one does. The problem is republicans are behind the investigation. I need to see some credible evidence from a credible source to form a conclusion…

Sigh... the reaganists would love this... if it was reagan...

Going after porn stars, pot shops and massage parlors really grinds my gears...
