gfinger -- this is not a very fair comparison. Saying that blacks eat fried chicken, watermellon, and collard greens has always had a racist meaning to it. I do not know why this is (and am not saying that it should be) but the bottom line is that this is the case. I think that all of us in this thread know it.
And for whatever reason the same is not the case for egg rolls and seinfeld.

I am sure he immediately realized or was very quickly told that this is going to carry some very serious back lash if he does not immediately apologize.
But the real reason, I am sure, is that he was immediately given an order from adidas and taylormade that he needs to get this sh!t straightened out immediately.

Woods is mixed 8 different ways, so you could have taken out "fried chicken" and inserted just about any food and it would have been racist towards him.....

I do not think this is a new thing. Remember the reaction to Fuzzy's comments in 97 (I think). I also agree that the statement in itself should not matter much but it is what it is and.

Let's be honest, Garcia apologized but it wasn't from his heart. He was told/forced to apologize from his manager, agent, sponsors, and so on.
It's obvious he doesn't like Tiger and maybe he doesn't like blacks either. He's entitled to dislike blacks. I find it appalling that there's even an issue about it. It's no big deal. If he is a racist, then let him be a racist. There's nothing wrong with being a racist!
