Helmut - I actually had no idea we had so much in common...

1) I have a 45 minute commute to and from as well, the extra 90 minutes every day which makes it a 9 1/2 hour day...

2) I too leave at 5 on the dot (or 4:59) and people give me shit

My philosophy is this...if you can't do your job in the 8 hours you're at work then there is something wrong with you. I'm in banking which is essentially a sales job these days and I blow these peoples numbers away. They sit around until 5:30 or 6:00 like they're super-dedicated or something, thinking they're making themselves look good. Bottom line her is the numbers is all that matters! And if it's taking you 5 hours of OT (or more) a week that the company has to pay you to do LESS that I do then something's wrong.

I got shit to do people! You think I wanna spend my free time hanging out at work? NO THANKS! I live in the Mountime Time zone as well, so, 5:00 here (7:00 ET) is when all the games are starting every night. By the time I get home it's between 5:45 or 6:00 on a good day, if I don't have anywhere else I need to stop on the way.

LEAVING AT 5:00, NOT A MINUTE LATER!

I have seen Office Space many times. The cast includes the average looking gal, Jennifer Anniston. The only motivation I have to go to work everyday is to hit on a couple of smokin admin assistants. Thank God they don't look like Mariah Carey. Otherwise, I would just stay at home.
