Canucks are so SICK!
Go ahead, cancel the rest of the season and give Vancouver the Cup. 1st place in the NHL with the fewest games played and only 8 regulation losses on January 4th.
Gillis is Brilliant!

Big question is......
Will they get past the 1st round of the Playoffs?

Are you serious? Nobody in the West has come close to beating this team in a month and a half. I know a potential first round matchup with the Hawks is the argument, but please, not a snowballs chance in Hell the Hawks even push it 6 games this season with no Versteeg, Ladd, and especially BYFUGLIEN.

And yes I know Detroit beat them last in Detroit. But if Luongo doesn't donate two gift goals to Zetterberg, the Canucks win that game as well.
With all due respect my friend.... Vancouver winning the cup this year is just as probable as the Leafs making the playoffs. ![]()

In net we have a one of the most talented goalies in the league, who has never shown up in BIG series. 2 things are different this year. 1 - Luongo will be more rested then ever. 2 - Cory Schneider is the best backup in the league... I would not be surprised if he took the reigns within 2 years.
Defense - Our top 6 is the most balanced in the league. Erhoff, Edler, Bieska, Ballard, Hamhuis and Salo (When he returns) throw in Alberts and Rome at 7 & 8. Bieksa and Alberts who were scapegoats for the nucks last spring have stepped up their game to new levels this year. Bieksa I believe now has the best + - on our Dline @ +13.
Forwards - The Sedins and Burrows are playing solid as normal. The emergence of Kesler this year hasn't been a surprise. Honestly, I think he's a top 20 player in the league. One of the best defensive forwards in the league and now better then a point per game player, name a better 2nd line center. Throw in one of the best faceoff and shutdown centers in Malholtra on the 3rd line, something we were missing last year and you have the center pieces of a solid core. Wheres the Grit? Torres, Glass, Volpatti and Hansen.
Special team you ask? O just #2 on the PP and top 6 on the PK.
Lets look at flaws from last year:
PK - Now one of the best in the league
No depth on the Blue Line - Additions of Ballard and Hamhuis, improved play of Bieska & Alberts
No true Captain - Sedin have taken the reigns nicely, Kesler has stop the trash talking and is a more vocal leader.
Shaky Goaltending - We could win the cup with Cory if we had too.
Scoring Balance - We have been getting contributions from all 4 lines.
Experience - The playoffs are nothing new to this core now. They will make a run this year.
I'm not saying they'll win the cup, but they definitely have a great chance. Anybody who writes them off are kidding themselves. And the comparisons to the Caps are absurd...
I would be shocked if they didn't make it to at least the Western Conference finals. I could only see 3 team knocking them off, which would be Pens, Red Wings and Kings.
Rant over - GO CANUCKS GO

OP I would slam you for such an idiotic statement but I know you're smart enough that you don't even believe this remark.

I love all the doubt surrounding this team... 20-1-3 with Tambellini in the lineup and 15-1-2 in their last 18 games. In the past few years this team has had flaws, this team has none.

Remember when Sundin was suppose to be the last piece to the puzzle?
Anyhow, settled in to your new place yet?

I catch the drift but this year is different. Temp living arangements at the moment. Good chance I might get married and move to the US in the not so distant future if you can believe that. North Carolina the likely first destination. Hope you had a good holiday season.

3-1 win over the Flames - Canucks keep rolling

They may have won the game but calgary out played them by a country mile
Isn't that the sign of a great team though? I watched ever game and correct they haven't played their best hockey in their past 3 games and they've won all 3.
There were obviously gonna be tired legs and some letdown after this road trip, however they still got the job done, got a lead early and capitalized when they had too. Calgary had chances, but not many very good chances, a lot of those shots game from outside, without much traffic.

Ryan Who?
Considering this is what he did against your Flyers, I would assume you know him very well by now...
