Anyone who thinks race is not a factor in how players themselves view each other should watch the Bird and Magic documentary. It may be unpleasant to talk about, especially in this day and age, but I think players are still affected/motivated it by it. But the motivation works both ways, like how bird wanted to outperform the black players as much as they wanted to stick it to him, it’s not one directional.

i'll also be honest..and most blacks know this.  the media tends to overrate the white guys.  gonzaga is the best team in history, they have no flaws.

baylor just kicked the living s out of the no flaw team.  and we saw a preview of it with the ucla game.  a lot of people said that gave them value, to fade the ucla game.  ucla got 81 points with one scorer. that has to be alarming

Jokic is Serbian. I don't consider Serbs white. Luka is Slovenian. Slovenians are more white than Serbs but they are still a mostly Slavic people. Race isn't a real thing. It's a very relatively recent invention that came about to justify the persecution of different groups of human beings. It has no real defining parameters, genetically, geographically, culturely, or otherwise. So you end up this wide, loosely defined group of people all classified as "white". My definition of "white" are the descendents of Germanic Northern Europeans. I don't consider Italians white. Nor Greeks, nor people from the Balkans, ect.
