Calling out Polar Bear in paricular here as you epitimize the "given great breaks school of thought" on the Knights...
I sincerely hope Rink Rat made you re-think your comments how "lucky" this team is with all the breaks they got in the draft and even in beating the Kings with suspensions, etc...seriously, bro, I have resected your comments over the years but you, sir are WAY off here..and if they find a way to finish the job, hope you show up at the parade down the strip...
Teams could still protect 95% of their rosters, what did Tampa get to choose from 2% or something? Oh wow, that changes everything...what you fail to see if how they also made great trades, had a plan for certain players, a vision in style and brought in a coach who demanded consistency and benched those who took games off...and he was clearly smart enough to play the "no respect" card effectively all year...because this team has never looked too far ahead...
Lucky suspensions? The Kings were clearly slower all series and if not for Quick's unbelievabe play would have lost 4-1, 6-1 in some games...
YOU will never, ever see this again in your lifetime from an expansion team in ANY sport so enjoy and appreciate the ending..unbelievable job and hopefully a lesson for the other teams what to demand from their players...in fact I appreciate what Ovechkin's doing showing the same determination like goal 1 last night-this is the only team that wanted this as much as Vegas, and it could be their downfall...but THANK YOU KNIGHTS no matter what happens

Great run by golden night but I think they are done. The last 2 games they’ve got man handled. The save by holtby in game 2 was game changer. Unless they pick it up in game 4 and if they keep playing like they have last 2 games stick a fork in them.

Yes, unfortunately they had to run into a team with more overall talent combined with even bigger chips on their shoulders from flat out choking for years..you know they should have beaten the Pens at least half the times blowing game 7's at home..
So they finally get by them and the pressure is off, they can play to their talent level but they are not taking it for granted, blocking 26 shots last night, etc...this is too much to beat for Vegas, their all around talent level isn't as high..
Any other team including the Pens, I think the Knights finish it off, catching those teams less desperate but Salut YOU KNIGHTS..because my point above, who else in the league played like them this season and in many past??

I think you're absolutely right about the coach playing the 'us against the world' card since the beginning of the season. The players definitely bought in calling themselves the Golden Misfits and it's been their rallying point all season.
Extremely smart move by Galant, however the idea that these players were unwanted castoffs from their former teams is just not true. There were definitely some mistakes, Minnesota and Florida stand out the most, but all teams were forced to leave guys unprotected. At the end of the day you use whatever works to win and Vegas bought in to this 'Misfit' concept. Ask the 30 other teams though if they can have their player back and I think the answers would all be yes.

Ok, but you know, none of those teams drafting alone under these rules would EVER be 3 wins from the CUP...not even close...
And if the NHL is wise, they'll leave it alone because it's brought way more positive attention to the sport that still shows it's games on patchwork cable networks...

Thanks, Polar! It just now seems they'll have to really find a Genie-the Caps could beat any WCC of the past if they keep this focus, blocking 26 shots a game, leaping for and blocking pucks...beautiful also to see a team beating itself for years finally get there...

huge-also in that '92 draft existing teams could protect more players-truly table scraps for those 2 teams, rules for protection changed in '93 for both Florida and Anaheim surprise surprise! this doesn't take away from the great job Gallant with this group in Vegas..
Rules in 93 changed for Anaheim and Florida "surprise surprise". What do you mean by that? C'mon now....don't be shy.

whatever Polar, good luck to you in life, I'm not a Knights fan, just appreciate unusual achievement...I've watched expansion teams for 50 years and nothing comes close..they wiped out 3 good teams in the playoffs and it's not because of the draft
That's all.

Amazing the way everyone just writes off The Knights, because of a couple(one extremely unlucky) losses. They'll show back up tonight, you can bet on that, grab the easy plus money, and it's also a good time to place a series bet on them at +190

The pieces of crap that run the NHL have stolen our teams, stolen our stars, changed the way our game is played, fukked with our culture and heritage by corrupting and ruining the only game we have, a game that was our religion, a game almost all of used as a character gauge while playing it growing up as kids. ............................mobsters can all gather together down there south of our border and go fuk themselves, every last one of the supreme kunts that they are.
Comrade!!! Nationalism at it's best!!! Yes, the great game BELONGS to the Border Toppers! . If only we could move all the teams back to the Home Land! Rumor is that Saskatoon is bidding to make the Golden Knights their own! (It's true! Google it!!!) THAT would be REAL hockey! Fredericton is wooing Ted Leonsis to get away from crime-riddled D.C. - Ovi will LOVE it there!!! And best of all, the biggest stateside failure of them all, the Florida Panthers (I mean The Great Game in Miami????) will move..... and for one year....be known as the Halifax Supreme Kunts (great marketing ploy to attract more and more of you GREAT Border Toppers to buy HSK merchandise!!!) Go Kunts Go....all the way to the SCF's!!!!

And we'll never see another expansion team enjoy the expansion draft rules the Knights got to enjoy either.
Umm..well you maybe missed what Satanic Commissioner Gary ("Southern Project") Bettman said recently on the subject, after the league meetings. On the subject of the expansion draft rules for the new team in Seattle, the NHL decided the rules will be the same as they were for Vegas.
Of course this does not disavow your supremely intelligent post in another thread about Vegas being "forgotten" if they do not win the Ugly Cup. You are SOOOO Smart and aware!!!
