M  y bet says yes home teams great so far I playoffs and Matthews want those fair weather leaf fans to regret the Jersey throw 

Don't think anyone should call you crazy at all. The Leafs are at home and it is a seventh and deciding game. 

Tough call on this one as home teams been dominating. Which version of Leafs do we get? Coin flip game but good luck.

How often does an NHL team in the 2-2-1-1-1 format win Games 1 & 2 at home and then go on to lose Games 5 and 7? Gotta be rare as heck, right?

 It's gotta be rare, teams that normally go up 2-0 probably don't get to the 7th game too often.

• Since the modern 2-2-1-1-1 format became standard in the 1980s for the NHL (and consistent post-2000s), teams that win Games 1 and 2 at home go on to win the series over 85% of the time.

• The specific path of winning Games 1 and 2, but losing Games 5 and 7 at home is extremely rare — single-digit percentage.

One of the few notable times this happened:

• 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs, 1st Round:
  Toronto vs. Boston —
  Boston won Games 1 & 2 at home
  Lost Game 5 at home
  Barely won Game 7 after trailing 4-1 late in the 3rd — so not exactly your scenario, but close in spirit.

Another very close one:

• 2009 Capitals vs. Rangers: Caps lost Games 1 & 2 at home, then forced Game 7 and won. Again, inverse of your scenario.

Statistically, if a team wins Games 1 & 2 at home, the chances of:

• Losing both Games 5 & 7 at home, and

• Losing the series

…are probably under 5%, if not closer to 1-2% historically.

NeverBrokeAgain, thank you, and yes, the Maple Leafs are the play. I bet them yesterday at +117 (a mistake to fire a day early), but just made up for that by betting +130 today for the same amount at the same book.

in between the 1st and 2nd period I added the Maple Leafs +1.5 -260. One of my books had that way too low. They took the bet and corrected it to +1.5 -310.
