US only conversation I believe...but curious to know in Canada if it is like this as well.
The NHL is doing some bs with the delaying of actual games on TV to the real time within the game. Outside of watching games on local networks, which is near real time, the NHL paid package is delaying the game broadcast up to 2 mins. This is brand tactic new within the last month and change. It really messes up the live betting and people aren't able to bet based on real time occurrences . It is getting more and more delayed lately as well. Tonight, Toronto was almost 2 minutes+ for what was showing on TV , what is being broadcast i live betting, and what is showing on NHL gamecast.
They have always had 6-8 secs delay for HD to what you see on your TV. However, this new 1:30 - 2 min delay is bs.
Anything for the house to have the extra advantage.

Good theory. I've noticed it too. Live has always been ahead of actually but the delays are def longer... went to a pens game in December and the TVs inside the area were even behind for a good bit of time too. Not sure why that would even be

This delay is crazy. Was just watching Caps/Sharks Game. It was at commercial break and i saw a score change flash on ESPN. I hit my timer on watch (about 10-15 secs). 1:28 later, they show the score. so about 1:40 - 1:45 min delay. Absolute garbage.
