If line movement is as accurate as they say it is, I'll be like biff in back to the future with his sports almanac.

Who cares if the live moves, it's only Vegas playing with you guys. That's why they move it, too confuse people. Line movement means absolutely nothing. Vegas knows exactly what they're doing with these lines. And they move them to confuse people. Sometimes they move it with the money, sometimes they move it against the money. No one knows. And if someone tells you they know, they're lying, because they don't know.

    re: @TxRangers

I meant Rookie is a good term for him. If you don't think Vegas has any reason to move lines, and they just move them up and down for fun...

Dude, many on Covers have worked in casinos, so we know exactly how it works. They move lines with the money flow. Period. Same as Wall Street. Stocks go up and down based on money flow. Bigger blocks (considered smarter money 50,000 shares and up) carry a greater weight as they are considered professional money managers or computer trading by the most sophisticated investors with the best information. Liitle blocks of trades don't phase the market.

When an NFL line for a sole, prime time game (huge handle) moves 2 full points before game time, that only says one thing...smart, heavy money. Big blocks. BTW, it also means Vegas need more money to even things out on the Seahawks, as Dallas is being bet heavily.

As Derek Jeter said "Good luck, Rookie."

part of the line move is to protect on teasers.  the move from 8 to 9 or 9.5 is doing that.

So you people are saying sports books don't make any money? You are saying sports books break even? You are saying sports books only makes money from the juice they charge because they want even money on both sides? Is that what you think? Uh, I thought sports books was in the business to make money??? But according to you guys, all they do is break even. So if line movements mean something, and you know what it means. Then why does everyone lose????

Why have sports books, if all they want to do is break even? Getting juice money doesn't pay the bills.

so, if the line moves to Dallas -10? You think that means there is a lot of money coming in on Dallas -9.5? So that's why they moved it to 10? Is that what you think?? Really? Is that what you think???

Big blocks. BTW, it also means Vegas need more money to even things out on the Seahawks, as Dallas is being bet heavily.  As Derek Jeter said "Good luck, Rookie."
dude, you have no idea what anyone does on this website? Stop saying that you do, because you don't. You don't know what I do, who I am, nor do you know anything about anybody else. You say people on here has worked at Vegas casinos?!! Just stop dude.

so, the line moved two points in Dallas's favor. You said when that happens that was "smart, heavy money" being wagered on Dallas. That's hilarious. It wasn't too smart???? It lost. But I didn't lose! I had Dallas money line. You guys keep looking at line movements. Like I said, and it was proven last night. Line movements don't mean anything. There is no such thing as "smart money"  or " heavy money".

All of that "smart money" last night wasn't very smart after all was it?? Vegas sportsbooks made a killing last night. But according to you guys, all they did was break even. Nope, you guys saw quote, unquote,"smart money" being wagered on Dallas because the line moved in their favor, so y'all put more money on Dallas, and lost. I told you "Line movement" doesn't mean anything. And it was proven last night again. And I'm laughing all the way to the bank. I had Dallas money line last night. I don't play point spreads
