Once again the information is legendary from MrBator.  We should all be so lucky to know half of this shit whether it helps out or not.  GL with that one, being a Michigan man I can't cheer against Brady.

I Hope it hits, if it don't you know how it is, 2 and 3 posts posters will come out of the woodwork.....it's unfortunate

Just first rate research and very intelligently presented.  What we all forget is that every player in the NFL is a world class athlete who also happens to be one of the best football players in the world.  A 14 pt. fav. lets down just a tiny bit, the dog plays just a little inspired and, boom, there ya go.

Again, thanks for the first rate post.

I like Matt Flynn, and his days at LSU,  but I don't think HC of the Pack put him in a good position to win last week.  I watched that game, and to expect an inexperienced QB to throw across the middle of the field in the "red zone" might be asking for too much.
This INT is what broke the back of the Pack and Flynn's confidence IMHO.

Flynn is a smart QB with skills, and his day may come, but he has the added difficulty right now of a non-existent Running Game to support his workload.

This is either a play on the PATS... or no play at all.

Anyone less than Mr. Bator writing this would be laughed out of covers.

Can't wait for this game, and the reaction after.  You will either need your armored suit, or be ready to be carried through Covers like Cesar conquering Rome!baby

This is good food for thought today.  Good research in the first post, what is hard to tell with that information is in the third game were the teams that had won two in a row playing against a team that was not starting its first string QB.  Also, if we look back at the start of 2007 the Patriots covered today's spread 8 weeks in a row.  Admittedly, the books got wise and NE covered only two the rest of the regular season.  I agree with what you are saying, but in my opinion tough to bet against NE in this spot at home, with questions of whether GB can score 14

But they're not superhuman.  A football team, no matter how talented or smartly-coached, has to collectiely raise its game to a dizzying level to do what the Patriots have done in their last 2.5 games.  No NFL team can sustain this level of excellence for long.  You don't have to take my word for it, just check out the pointspread history I laid out already.  The Patriots are a cut above the rest for keeping the engine running at full throttle last Sunday in Chicago after blitzing the Lions in the second half, 35-7, and then completely squashing the Jets, 45-3.  Hats off to them for keeping it going in the snowstorm in Chicago.  It was truly amazing to watch them do that to the 9-3 Bears.  But expecting them to do blow out a fourth straight team after doing all that is not only asking too much, it's actually unfair to ask it of them, especially when the opponent is more worthy of a twinge of sympathy from them than anger and fire.

Started to click?    Really, because I think they've been clicking their asses off!  In fact, I'm worried I'll go deaf from all of the clicking noises.  Seriously, how much more clicking do you think an NFL team can do in consecutive weeks??

Great write up Bator alot of good points.  Obviously because of my avatar some people might bash me for playing the devils advocate but the only "issue" or thing everyone might wanna consider is although your stats were spot on if you take a look at the Patriots first 8 games of '07 although they did allow more than 7 pts in almost all those games they still beat them all by a minimum of 17 points.  We can all agree the results of the last two games aren't representative of the pats def (nyj anemic offense, snowstorm in chi) and although they have gotten better its safe to say their offense has been the more consistent group similar to '07.  For the record this game is prob a no play for me but all i'm sayin is the patriots covered 6 times after b2b blowouts in 07 and won every game by more then the point spread today only diff between your stats and these is they allowed more points then your original guidelines of pts for/pts allowed.  I'm not saying your wrong, your stats and line of reasoning are valid, or that I'm right just that it seems like a no play imo because the pats covering a big pt spread after two blow outs isn't as unlikely as you think.  good luck to everyone.

The one and only thing to get me to back a 7th round draft pick in his first career start against a mighty Pats team playing better than their perfect regular season is a Bator thread...I'll play along with ya...

    Awesome info !!!

For whatever reason the masses of fans think that if a team wins big 2 weeks in a row that means they'll win big the next week, "it's so engrained in people to think this way", when your info and history "proves" the opposite.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pack are in this game with a chance to win at the end.

Yes, that's right, off 31-0 and 34-7 wins the Chargers will be substantial road favorites in frigid Cincinnati next Sunday.  Say what you want about the lousy Bengals - they're not lousy as home dogs!

gl Bator your streak of bad luck when starting a thread ends tonight as most people who will get crushed will chase with the Patriots. I woke up to numerous texts of my friends asking me to place wagers for them on the Patriots. Even the casual fan has become aware of how dominant the Pats have been.

Patriots have already won 3 games in a row by 20+!!  As respected as you are Bator, this seems like an odd spot to go out on your shield.  By the way this exact same organization won 8 in a row by 17+ in 2007.  This team looks to be playing at that level right now.  The Patriots have been exceptions to your statistical argument twice in the last four years.  Just Saying...
