I will be sitting on the 30 yd line 23 rows up, with about a bottle of Goose in me and some ribs and burgers

I realize I am known as the "homer" of covers, and have upset many people.

I think some of it was deserved and much of it wasnt deserved.

Most of my posts about the Packers leave no room for discussion and are very one-sided.

While I am a homer, I am actually very good at betting, and betting GB games.

Its a new year, and I will change my old ways of the past.

Im a younger guy, 29....living in Chicago all my life.  I have grown up being surrounded by sports failure.  I am not an NBA fan, see even when Jordan was here, it wasnt that exciting for me.

Living in Illinois and being a Packers fan is hard.  Heck, I get heckled when I go to Jewel on gameday wearing a Packers jersey by grandpas in motorized wheel-chairs.

Im a sports degenerate and sports fan.  I am a gambling degenrate as well.  Nobody likes to hear their team talked about poorly.

I wasnt dealing with it well during the year.  But, like I said, I am doing my best to change.

Its hard not to get excited when your team wins the Superbowl like they did last year, and then start how they did.

Moving on to this game in a couple days.....

As much as I hate to say this, NY reminds me 100% of the Packers of last season.  Having to fight and win the last few weeks of the season just to make the playoffs.  Then, after winning the 1st game, although not on the road like GB did, they seem to be everybody's favorite to run the table.

Even after the Packers started about 6-0, I always thought the Giants were the only team remaining that could be the Packers this year.

Here is my thought on the game.

Everybody is on NY cause their late season run.  However, they did win all those games at home.

In my opinion, they didnt beat a good team.  Jets stink.  They have a good defense, but Sanchez is awful.  Same with the Cowboys.  Yes, Atlanta made the playoffs.  But, Ryan on the road is just awful.  In my opinion, NY had the easiest opening round game of the 4 games.

NY has a great front 4.  But, they did nothing in the first meeting.  Why will be something different this time?  In fact, we will have 2 starting OL that didnt play that game.  So in reality, our blocking will be better.

I keep seeing people say that they are going to knock Rodgers all over the place.  NY doesnt have the LB or secondary to blitz GB.  They did, and they would get shredded again.

I expect GB to go 4 or 5 wide probably 85% of the time.  Not only does that take away some of the blitz options, but it also opens up the big runs for Rodgers.

I see people say that GB lost to KC, so NY will do the same.  No offense, every team had bad losses this year.  If GB wasnt 15-1, nobody would have remembered that KC loss.  They also had about 6 starters out that game, who will play this week.

People hate stats, and always say stats dont matter.  But, word is GB has the worst defense and cant stop anybody.  I have no idea what happened to the defense last year, lack of motivation, I dont know.  They give up TONS of yards, BUT, they dont give up TDS.  Field goals will not beat GB.

In GB, they score 38 ppg and allow only 19.

The defense needs to make about 3-5 stops per game and they win.  Factor in the turnovers and TD the defense scores, I think their bad defense is way over-blown.

Even if GB's defense sucks, what does it say that the Giants rank 7 spots behind them???

GB has pretty much had 2 weeks off.  Many of the backups played against Det, which allowed every injury to heal.  The only concern might be the layoff.  But, they are sharp in practice, and they type of offense they play allows quick read and decisions.

I think its going to be a good game.  It should be close.  I think Eli is going to make too many mistakes, and the run game isnt going to be what people think it will be.

All GB is hearing is how they can/will lose this game.  The defense is tired of hearing they stink.

Yes, I am a Packers fan and homer, but I expect them to come out and make a HUGE statement.

While I think NY has the tools to hang in the game, in the end I just dont think they can compete to the end.

I didnt watch every NY game this year, I watched 7 of them.  THe game against GB was the BEST game they played all year long.  They needed a late TD and 2 pnt conversion just to tie the game.  GB didnt even play their best game that night, not even close.

NY will have to play another flawless game to have a chance.  Can they do it, of course they can.  Can they do it again against the same team, I dont believe so.

The atmosphere is going to be insane.  The defense is going to make a statement.  The 15-1 Packers, although the spread doesnt show it, are somewhat coming into this game as a 15-1 team very likely to lose.

With the injuries healed, especially Jennings, I expect this team to roll on both sides of the ball.  NY will get their points, probably about 20, but I dont see any reason GB scores under 30.

Good luck to all those who bet NY ML and the points.  While I disagree with your opinion and side, I find it hard to go against the team who won the superbowl last year and went 15-1 this year.

Its going to be a great game.  Its going to be a long week of work.  Heading to GB Saturday afternoon, cant wait!!!

Best of luck on all your wagers on the game

Family members work for the Packers.  Brothers close friend is one of the head-trainers.

Ive had to explain a few times how I am a Packers fan living in Chicago.  Even though people dont believe it because I joined the site last year, its because Ive grown up with family working for them all my life.

Ive been lucky to have a few connections for home games.

Many people would probably sell the ticket, but the atmosphere and memories of a Packers home playoff game isnt worth what I would probably gamble on a couple games

    Finally, you admit it.

And a well written, objective point of view on what will be a great playoff game

I knew you could do it.

Congrats on the tickets man. I'm a huge GB fan workin in NY, so I can relate to that Chicago bad blood these days :)

In regards to your comparison b/w this year's Giants and last year's Pack, I couldn't agree more. Both teams won must-win games in the last 2 weeks of the season and susdenly became a hot team. But of course, last year's Falcons and Bears clearly aren't the competition GB will prove to be this week for NY.

I agree that GB will make a statement this week too. One counterpoint to your comments about nyg's D-line performance against the Pack earlier this yr - Osi didn't play, and Tuck was struggling BIG time. Now, despite us getting Clifton and Sitton back, nyg has ALL 3 of their guys playing at a high level.

So the G-men clearly have a distinct advantage in the trenches, but I firmly believe A-rod's mobility, accuracy outside of the poket, and ability to make plays with his feet will be the difference.

    Enjoy the game man.

I think people are giving the Giants way too much credit up front, and giving way too much credit to beating a Falcons team with no playoff wins with Matt Ryan

The Giants are better on the road than at home.
