The problem with taking a recent trend is that it can be showing regression off an earlier, opposite trend. Better to look at the last 22 years than the last two.

10 years max because it will include many current players/coaches. Most trends fail when the players and coaches turnover.

Agree but I have shortened my rear view mirror to 5 years due to rule changes, analytics (4th down, 60 yd fg ) and legalized gambling everywhere. One must recognize the league likes parity and points.This goes out the window in playoffs imho.
