I try to find humor in most things and good Lord there's a whole lot here. Dude received 6 mill or so from Buffs so he ain't going hungry, my guess is the signing bonus difference between the 1 & 2nd round and 5th is substantial. Lets see if Mr. Wonderful can win the starting job and if not that will be worth a few more chuckles.

thats the fun part of the draft. we all have our personal valuations and we will soon find out who is right. Unlike most, I dont care about these guys, their money, and personalities. All the fluff is meaningless to me. $. $anders is the best QB in my opinion and like i said the truth will be told. Here we go I stated my opinion and all the softies are going to come out like bats now.
For me it not a personality contest and all the stats and data in college are only a guide. This is real now. We will see.

@spottie2935 If we're talking stats, I'll take Will Howard and his 5 years experience over Sanders 2. Last year qbr Howard=175.4 Sanders=168.2 And one could argue that big10 competition was much tougher than the pac12 last year. Just my 2 cents. The Steelers might of got a hidden gem in the making.
im not standing on a soap box saying no way about anyone. At this moment every opinion everyone has my respect. I’m just interested to see this play out.

But one could argue many of Howard's starts where he put up huge numbers were vs horrid pre Big 10 cupcakes.. Then some bad Big 10 teams also.. Add in the fact he had time to tap the ball 3 times or more before feeling any pressure compared to the pressure Sanders was under all year levels the playing field...Also Hard to forget the show Howard put on for the combine this year where one NFL scout said it was not bad it was below that .. I have seen it on you tube.. As a Steeler fan I am concerned very concerned... Add n the fact he was nothing special those 4 years at Kansas State ... Completing less then 60% of passes.. and average at best td-int rate.. Hope I am wrong but... Give me Sanders...

The PAC-12 didn't exist last year. To your point though, I think Will Howard was a better prospect than Sheduer too. Not a great prospect though, and hence his draft position.

Teams aren't wasting draft capital to take a flier on QBs. Gone are the days on carrying 3+ QBs and drafting a guy into your system as a last resort option/future project. Most teams have their starter. And with tons of career backups floating around, most teams have their backup.
Shedeur put up great numbers at Colorado but numbers aren't really how QBs are evaluated for the next level. He's on the lower side of height, though his height is in line with many current NFL QBs. He has a sub-par arm, and less athleticism than you would expect from Deion's kid. He doesn't seem to work through his progression fantastically, waiting on his primary read to open up. Probably due to this, he holds on to the ball for too long. This is probably more of a reason for the sacks than the line.
I believe the best QBs are born and not made. Shedeur strikes me as a manufactured QB. He probably played for his dad in youth football and Deion said, "My son is gonna be the QB." Then he got to high school and his dad said, "My son is gonna be the QB." Then he got to Jackson State...
To his credit, he had a high completion % and a high TD:INT ratio. I don't think he's a fantastic prospect though. Add in all the drama, the attitude, etc. He apparently bombed a couple interviews, essentially getting into an argument with one coach. You can see why he fell. And i'm not sure he makes the roster over Dillon Gabriel. Gabriel is a better QB and would've been drafted higher if he was a few inches taller.

If I am critical of $2 it is his opponents played. FBS for 2 years then last season CU played a weaker type of schedule. They didn’t play any of the top finishing B12 teams. No Iowa State, No Arizona State, No TCU. Smooshed by BYU and barely escaped Baylor. Had a lead against K State and blew that away. Most often played a lack luster 1st quarter so he had to see something first before the execution began.
My statement stands I think he can be special but I need to see him progress.

I am a CLV fan who is not a fundamental analyst. I do not expect much of anything from Flacco, Pickett, Gabriel or Sanders, but that may be a blessing in disguise. The worse they finish in the 2025 season, the better off they'll be in the 2026 draft which is loaded with talented QBs.
They'll have two first-round draft choices; hopefully one will be a home run (I mixed my sports metaphors).

Great accurate post..Shedeur has been sheltered like you described his entire life, especially on the field..it will be very interesting how they BOTH do going forward into the future..
I say Dad is going to Fail much worse than Shedeur..I'll be shocked if he makes it through entire season in Boulder..you know it's going to crush him deep down..
We all will see how well he raised him...Definitely not off to a good start..Only time will tell

Yea same here. None of us really know.
Fwiw, Josh Allen had a lot of the same concerns from folks coming out of college. Kind of similar to Will Howard's.

what was his qbr before he landed on a team with the best offensive line, four 1st round draft picks and 14 total draft picks in this year's draft?

Josh Allen is a lot more athletic. Will Howard can't compare to Josh. I like Will H. He made me lots of money but I saw him play and he will make mistake against tough opponents. My main concern is his real toughness or he will just be a journey man at best.

@Buffalobob89074 Cmon silly….surely you caught the sarcasm. Just in case, No, Watson would not be a good role model for anyone on this planet. Sorry you missed that. Tony Dungy still cracks me up… and so does Gabriel.
I misinterpreted your comment.

Among Sanders, Gabriel, Flacco, and Pickett, someone has to go or be on the taxi squad. I don't even like Sanders' highlight films in college and I don't see what his supporters see. He is weak armed and accurate and DBs will bust some moves and pick him IMO. Time will tell and he might prove me wrong, but I see the Browns starting Pickett with Flacco as backup and Gabriel as #3. Always the chance that Haslam will intrude in all decisions which is why the Browns are so messed up now.

Respectfully disagree… I think either Pickett or Sanders won’t be on the squad opening day and Flacco starts.
And Sanders 100% has the best potential and future. I think the Brownstains will screw it up as always and trade Sheduer to a winning culture with excellent QB coaches (Niners and Rams come to mind)

Did anyone else peek at rookie camp video and the massive difference in size and body movement over Gabriel?? Gabriel can zip it, but he’s no where close to playing in the NFL. I watched him in HS out here…absolutely nothing special and completely overrated. Never grew up playing against the talents of Texas HS football.

Cmon man… This can’t be how you handicap QB prospects in the NFL?
“believe the best QBs are born and not made. Shedeur strikes me as a manufactured QB. He probably played for his dad in youth football and Deion said, "My son is gonna be the QB." Then he got to high school and his dad said, "My son is gonna be the QB." Then he got to Jackson State..”
Next he’s not undersized by any means…the man is thick strong and plenty tall. Hes also top of the incoming QB’s at progression reads and has excelled under more than a couple QB coaches and their offenses. Versatile. Next is thr outstanding attitude you and many others are underrating. This kids a winner always has been.. was sacked almost 100 times in NCAAF behind a horrendous offensive line. Standing strong dusting himself off and never a bitch or complaint. Maturity beyond his means. Hence the nickname “grown”. Tom Brady is a mentor and I trust his judgement.
One would think he would pout about the 5th round to the worst franchise who already selected a QB debacle.. NOPE
Was early to Cleveland and started out throwing to local HS kids who were blown away by the invite. Did some great things visiting shelters and volunteering…was also the last one to leave the practice field over 30 minutes more of passes. A great attitude. Dudes a workout machine, no drugs/alcohol and has watched football with the best DB of all times.
Accuracy of his broke records, with yet again a hindering O line. TD/Int ratio both seasons. Great
I mean what have these critics been watching or referring too. Seems like personal reasons people are doubting Sanders. Clearly nothing at all concrete.

Word out of Cleveland, the circus has arrived to town..BUT, they are saying Shedeur has been looking great, much better than Dillon...
Let's just give Him a chance..I still predict Daddy bails on Boulder, sooner than later but we'll see
He has a Massive chip on his shoulder ...would love to see him end up starting...I've also heard they may tank to get Arch Manning..they will have 2 very high draft picks next year..poor Browns fans
