There are so many opportunities in CFB to slay the books this season, I don't know why so many people in the thread not jump on it.  For instance, read up on the QB situation on U. of Maryland -- that's all I'm going to say.  If you have any clout, you should be able to make at least $6k off my Maryland tip for the remaining 3 weeks left in the season.  There are at least 5 different teams (besides U. MD) in CFB that are on a free fall currently (and have been on a free fall).  I plan to make at least $20K in the next 3 remaining weeks just betting against these teams...without having to think much about the bet.  I used to spend hours analyzing this or that...fuck no...no more.  why analyze when I know these teams are going to get murdered before half-time is over.  The teams that suck will not turn their season around at this point of the season.  They will continue to suck balls or get worse.

My uncle used to bet on NFL games 20 years ago.  I don't know if he had any success doing it -- I don't think he did.  I never thought I would bet on sports but realized that I can make a lot of money just by simply following trends and staying abreast of the news.

I am 100% Vietnamese...I came to the U.S at age 9 (my grandfather served in the U.S Army and got the paperwork to bring the family over to the U.S).  I played WR in H.S.  I am still very active and keep in good physical condition.  I understand the game of football b/c I played it and understand the psyche involved.   Unlike my uncle, I don't think he understood the details of the game....such as defensive coverages and schemes.  Why is this important, when you are putting down $5k on a game, it goes beyond the numbers (point spread or total points).  You have to understand the minute details that make football such a great sport to play and to watch.  If you've never played it at the H.S level, you'll never understand that this game is one of the most vicious games of any sports...yea you hear it all the time on TV or through players but until you've played it you'll know.

My point is why bet on the NFL when the talent level is equal....even the Jags have good talent but they don't work in a cohesive manner to channel their talents like the Texans.  And when the talent is equal on both sides of the ball, anything can happen.  I repeat ANYTHING can happen...that's why it's so unpredictable.  When I put money down on a bet, I want predictability.  I want a high chance of winning..and winning can come easy if you are patient enough to wait for the right time....just as last week end.  I don't even bet every weekend, but when I see a game or games(s) that I see potential to make a killing, I go all in.  Last saturday, I won > $27k.  This is just my second season betting on football.  I won a couple grand last year.  That was my rookie season....I've learned quite a bit in 1 year.

very good point there brother. I've been betting/booking since 2000, 1 thing I would like to share with anh em is never bet too big. Yes I know from time to time you see the spot and bet them but still. It's a game of football and anything can happen. Don't let 1 bad bet affect your life.

Don't let 1 bad bet affect your life.

whoever your book is, if they have already post the pt spread then put your pick in now.  The line started at -37 and now it's at -38.  It may move to -39 or -38.5.  I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to -40.

the reason why it's moving from -37 to -38 is b/c the public is pounding the shit out BYU.  This is going to be ALL BYU, folks.  It'll be complete annihilation...complete domination...choose your verb.  Idaho may not even score 3 points.  The game will be over by the end of 1st quarter.

I totally agree with you.  I forgot to mention about bankroll management.  Everybody on this thread should have an solid understanding of this concept.  If you don't, google it and practice it like a religion.

In short, when placing a bet:  Loose what you can afford to loose but don't bet to lose your car or your mortgage.  It's the stupid dudes who think they understand the game of football that end up place huge bets and lose their ass and be homeless.

Tigga76, so what other 5 teams besides Maryland? Do I bet on them or against them? I agree with you on CFB is a little easier to call or predict as you call it. NFL is rigged too much! They'll sell their grandma if they have to. Some college games are fixed also but not as much. Did you watch the Bama vs LSU? Nick Saban could have killed LSU second half and called off his dogs and his offense until he needed the win. There are others that will say "Dam, what a comeback!". That's bullshit! He beat the shit out of LSU before half time and changed everything second half. Do you notice if a favored team that is winning or won the pointspread 1st half will 95% of the time loose the point spread 2nd half. And if the favored is loosing the point spread 1st half will continue to loose the point spread 2nd half. Unless too many people are betting on the underdog with lots of point like 36 points and above will get killed 2nd half. That's the way that I see it with alot of college single games like Tue, Wed, Thu., Fri. Let me know which 5 teams besides Maryland that you're talking about so I can follow. Thanks.

Yes, I watched the LSU vs Bama game.  Another term folks need to get familiar in with in football is called: momentum.  LSU had the momentum in the second half b/c the was in Death Valley.  The crowd noise and the excitement brought LSU's game to another level....it's called home team advantage.  It's a huge boost for the energy of the game / home team.  Momentum is also huge in basketball as well.  I bet the UNDER 39.5 for that game.

Anyhow, take BYU point spread at the half and for the game.  Sometimes, a team will put in their "meat squad" (2nd and 3rd string player) in the second to give them some real game experience and will not work to your advantage b/c the favored team will cover in the 1st half and not cover for the entire game b/c the meat squad can't play defense and the meat squad offense can't score.

My MOTO:  I always bet AGAINST the shitty teams.  Take Clemson point spread for the 1st half on Sat.

About the other 5 teams, I'll let you do some homework and look around.  I'm not going to make things that easy for you...this is part of the learning experience that you need to do some research on your own.

A hint:  look at who is heavily favored and who are huge underdogs for this saturday's games and you can ID who are the shitty teams are.  Also look at the SU and ATS record.

the reason why it's moving from -37 to -38 is b/c the public is pounding the shit out BYU.  This is going to be ALL BYU, folks.  It'll be complete annihilation...complete domination...choose your verb.  Idaho may not even score 3 points.  The game will be over by the end of 1st quarter.

Akron at -17.  Could be a blowout, and the 1 - 9 Akron should kick some Minutemen ass.

My apology to you boycali and sorry that you didn't win on either one! I took it the wrong way. I guess there's many different ways you can interpret things and I interpret the wrong way. That game was too easy for Bama to keep on pounding on second half. For any sports handicapper not to see that old Nick Saban sold out is too naive. There weren't any momentum on LSU. Bama didn't want to score nor played defense. He didn't put 2nd string in there after the 1st half. People don't gamble can say "Dam, LSU played a great game, they came back and almost beat Bama." BS! BS!  Bama can even beat Cinci or St. Louis. They are above the college level. Anyone can comment whatever they want to but that is the way that I see it. That is why sports handicapping is gambling. You just hope that when you make that bet, they don't sell out. I'm no Bama fan or any other team. I'm a a big fan of Benjamin Franklin!!! $$$$

I just want to make sure that other anh em viet not just follow your bet blindly and bet ways too big on them.

yes good bookie is save but to me you should have more than 1 book. As a ex bookie myself I know very single of my players well and I know which style my players like to bet. I know it's mean but if you stay with 1 book you'll get disadvantage on point spread from time to time. If you bet on NBA so many night game depend on .5 pts you'll feel it.
