A non conference game right before the bye, and right after your 10th win, with your only serious division rival on deck after the bye is prime spot for a letdown. I often fade teams that get their 10th win as that was always basically guaranteed playoff number they tend to relax.
But with it being a home game on MNF, Thanksgiving dinner ate and digested, I'm thinking the Pats will not waste the opportunity to realy strengthen their seed position and go into the week off feeling good with a beating of the Giants who allow the most yards per rush of any NFL team and sorely miss Kayvon Thibodeaux.
The Patriots lead the NFL in completion percentage and so I think a balanced and efficient offense will be easily achieved.
I have to admit i have a knack for fading the Giants when they cover as a dog unfortunately i had the Lions last week but I now get a crack at them with a much better secondary, Detroit's secondary is the worst of the NFL over the last month in yards per catch allowed while NE has been the 3rd best, so it should be a lot tougher this week for Dart and I doubt many rookies go in there to Foxboro and win on MNF first try at it, not when the Pats are playing like this.
The Giants have done nothing but blow games all season and if they fight hard again and cover fine, but I could see them getting blown out if NE is not looking ahead to the bye and Buffalo. I don't know how these guys keep getting up again after these losses anyway.
I usually like to spend my NFL December fading the teams that had disastrous seasons (despite some bright spots it's been bad and even one of the bright spots got hurt) and playing ON teams that are clearly contenders to lock down their divisions and seeds. The Giants have been pesky at times but the Pats have really found chemistry and this is their 3rd and final primetime game this year with the other 2 being on TNF and SNF
I really think that makes for a good situation to ball out and make sure you prove to everyone that you're for real and make sure they don't forget about you going into the bye week. I just don't see the Giants stopping this momentum or a letdown by the Pats who I wish I had been watching more closely and betting on already this season. Hopefully not too late to the party (I don't think so)
