i finally give up and join the crowd. what am i doing arguing with this guy. hopeless.
@LeagueCapper
talking to 3 guys:
-The bb who said pregame that he suspects they would rig the game for the chiefs, and that the andy reid son situation would kill the team spirit and they could come out flat
-The bb who faded what he said above and picked the chiefs
-The bb who got angry and what he said above and expressed total shock that the refs would rig the game, saying if it wasn't for the refs the chiefs had a shot
One guy, 3 personalities.
Yeah the Chiefs spent the entire 2nd half trying to score, got 3 points total, and nobody is claiming any ref issues in the 2nd half. But, it doesn't matter in his world, because he is full of contradiction, he'll say one thing and then say the opposite.

is it tiring yeah...
i imagine multiple personalities is tiring. but i never had it, so i don't know.
but it is tiring to listen to, that is for d sure. no accountability, just blame, as they say mix words around to support whatever argument you're trying to make
one point the refs will rig the game, next point i can't believe the refs rigged the game

Well said LC, unfortunately its impossible to reprogram ignorants in life.
People who believe in rigs and fixes are likened to people who join a cult and end up dying for their fake leader.

Seriously, I agree with LC.
I had the Colts ML against the Bills. had a great postseason but that game was a loss.
If you know football, the Chiefs game against the Bills, the Bills didn't play defense. they gave up. When you have Hill running through the backfield, if he gets a 3 yard pass he can make a long play out of it you know the team defense has gone to s.
The buccs had to go to New Orleans, had to go to Green Bay. You watch both games, and you saw the communication by the Buccs in the secondary. It was artful to watch. Todd Bowles deserves another head coaching job.
One of the most beautiful teams we will ever see is this year's Buccs. Congrats to those that rode the team.

Thanks for taking the time to post, LC. Much appreciated.
I know you are trying to help out an old friend and set him straight. Unfortunately, I might be beyond repair. The way I see it, there are at least two issues here: 1) was Tampa the right play? and 2) if the refs favored the Buccaneers and put the Chiefs in a hole they could never get out of? and a third 3) whether or not the league had a preference as to which team would win, and what, if anything, that had to do with the officiating? Two things, even three, can be true at the same time. Tampa had a huge advantage against the KC offensive line and Mahomes was going to have his difficulties regardless. And let’s also agree that the Chiefs defense was not the greatest on the world and can be had. Those who bet on the Chiefs were betting on a once in a lifetime generational talent overcoming those deficits because he is just that good. (In fact, if not for two dropped balls by his receivers at the goal line the Chiefs would have had 14 more points! That’s how good this guy is. He has the leadership skills of a Brady and the talent of an A Rodgers (in his prime) combined.) Nonetheless, Mahomes struggle in the first half, as one might predict with that banged up o line. But did the KC defense really play that bad? I say no to that. Had it not been for the one sided officiating (so one sided in fact that Boomer Esiason called them out on national TV at halftime. Have you ever seen such a thing?!) the Chiefs would be in that game at halftime and not have to go so pass heavy in the second half to try and come back from a dd deficit. In such a scenario, you could hardly count the Chiefs out. But trailing 21-6 and having to rely on the pass when your offensive line is broken is a recipe for disaster, even for a guy with the talent Mahomes has.
As for #2. You already agreed with me and the rest of the world that the Chiefs got the short end of the stick with the officiating. The only question is why and if the refs had an agenda? You say no. I say that is naive because refs are employed by the league and don’t need a memo from the commissioner to know what’s in the best interest of the league. They read newspapers and talk amongst themselves just as we do, so they know which way the wind or whistles is blowing: they are not stupid, even if they might be old and slow. Also, if you ever bothered to read Timmy D’s book on how the NBA got the results it wanted, you would know that for each game officials get instructions from the league as to what calls they want emphasized. If team is A is more aggressive on the line of scrimmage against receivers than team B and the league tells the officials to vigorously flag those types of infractions, which team do you think will get flagged more?! According to Timmy D this is how the NBA was able to manipulate results while maintaining a level of plausible deniability.
As far as the league itself having an interest in the outcome/result I think it’s pretty hard to believe that a multimillion dollar business would have no interest in the outcome of the game when one team winning would create all kinds of bad publicity for them, which they would have to answer for from the moment the trophy was handed to Andy Reid, and another that wouldn’t. The officials in the game would only need average IQ to realize what was in the league’s (and therefore their own) best interests. There is no smoking gun/memo. There is no trace of impropriety (except the game tape) because there doesn’t have to be.

I think that’s the hardest question to answer. Unfortunately, I don’t have a shrink, so I have to figure it out on my own.

@begginerboy
fair enough.
yeah me too, countless times i had the answer, and you gotta go one way or the other. you kick yourself cause u ignored what you knew
this wasn't an easy game for me to cap.
then in the morning there was a report out that mahomes would require toe surgery immediately after the game ended. and that was it for me. all or nothing on tampa bay. it was an easy call after i got that report. as lc knows if you want to win you gotta dig hard in the games you don't have a lean on.
good luck man, and trust me i have been there and will be again i'm sure.

and for the record yeah...the other thing was the reid son situation.
i wasn't looking at the refs but i told myself the team was not prepared. as i said earlier, if the coach of the team is out drinking and slamming into a car of kids just a few days before the game, this is a tell. i got laughed at for that-some guy doubled his bet saying i was fos for saying that.

Thanks, Bud. Good luck to you as well. Thanks for helping me talk to through it. I’d send you a check but for the therapy session but I don’t think you need it after that nice win.

Britt is an alcoholic with issues of substance abuse as well.
I am not condoning what he did, but alcoholism is a mental disease, and its irrelevant what his job is or when this episode happened.
This disease does not care who you are, or whats going on in your life...it waits for a random moment of weakness and pounces.
Britt will have to live with his actions for the rest of his life.
God forbid you experience this disease thru a loved one like a child of yours...it will destroy most families if allowed to fester.
Andy Reid's had a very tough road to haul due to his kids drugs and alcohol addictions.
This issue cant be easy for him now that its so public.

@packersbackers
i agree and it was like i was saying..you can't get CAUGHT. some people can NOT drink and drive
and you have to look at the TIMING. go out and get wasted after the super bowl. everyone can understand that. 2 days before the super bowl and it's your JOB??? seriously?
i can't tell you how much i want to drink and go to a strip bar...maybe he couldn't deal with the situation, but he only had to wait another 3 days
yeah the substance abuse i heard testosterone this is serious stuff
i don't know what's going on with the reid family but as bb said this is a huge story and the nfl doesn't want to have anything to do with it. i wouldn't expect the refs to take a stand but if they did i know it wouldn't be for kc. the game was in the bag for tb from the start. it didn't matter.
i can tell you from being on teams that if a teammate or a coach does something like this is does sap your emotion. the entire team isn't focused on the game. you saw that in dropped balls
he may never get a football job the rest of his life, i hope he does but if so obivously someone's gonna have to hammer into this guy's head.

The disease is our humanity. Alcoholism, like gambling, drug abuse, and anorexia is just one way of coping with it.
