Is Denver the Worst #1 seed in NFL history?

12 comeback wins this year? most in NFL history I believe.  Luck out the Wazoo.. Amazing that they've made it this far. Women & the Anime crew must really be backing Denver this year.

We dont hear about Denver's comebacks like we did with Chicago.  We are told Chicago's wins were lucky and unsustainable and to expect a regress next year. 

Fair enough, that was a long time ago. Modern day Division II college players are more evolved and better than the pros were back in the 60's. 

I should have asked, is Denver the worst #1 seed within the past 40 years or so 

The Broncos pythagorean or "expected win/loss" record wwas 11-6.

Seeing a 1 seed who is 3 wins worse than their real regular season record should be somewhat concerning. 

Looking at their boxscore vs the Bills:

Total plays: Bills 78, Broncos 68

Total yards: Bills 449, Broncos 349

Turnovers: Bills 5, Broncos 1

So, turnovers were technically even at 5 to 5, with the Broncos getting much better field position by punting. 

This game should of not been as close as the final score. Although who am I to say if those turnovers were Josh's fault, or the Broncos playing great defense in creating those.

One thing is for certain, Sean McDermott got fired after this game. Maybe he should of taken a knee with 16 seconds left in the 1H instead of trying to make a hero play with little to no chance. It cost the Bills a Broncos FG to end the half.

eerily similiar to the sb 50 broncos.  that team had atleast 10 close wins.  better to be lucky then good as they say

They were not a number 1 seed. Back then home teams were decided before hand and not based on best record

 I remember the 1995 Marty Chiefs being 13-3 and getting bounced their first game they played in the Playoffs..

They did beat Allen men 

Yes, off 5 turnovers and still had to go to OT with a blown call to win to get by again.

This whole site loves Denver. I Can't wait till next year when they fall off a cliff. At least this will be the last week we get to watch this Phuckery of a team get by. Pats win.
