Made no sense. Defense was on one so why not overtime. Have to have trust in your team

If I’m harbaugh, I go for it 100% in that situation.
Have a chance to win the game outright without giving one of the best quarterbacks of all time a chance at a clutch overtime win.

right call, sorry you lost money or something

Over the long run, going for 2 is the right thing to do.

Over the short run, it can appear it is the wrong thing to do.

I stick with math over human emotion, and long term over short term any day.

But what about what I said about the human factor involved going for 2, instead of 1. Did you read the post?

I just think the chance of converting a two in a game winning/losing situation are complicated in ways they are not in the middle of a game or even a game tying situation. The choke factor by coaches and players on that final game winning/losing two point conversion is immense.

On the other side of the field is Rodgers...going into OT..Ravens were playing with house money..No problem with the call...The play call was the issue...

Huntley has 73 yards rushing and the play call took that element out of the play...

    Simple question...

What would have been the line on that 2 point conversion being a success?

You guys are trying to tell me it would have been an underdog at + money?

    Please.

Analytics are totally ruining sports. The video game generation is attempting to put their thumbprint on these games because they  feel the need for change. Fukkin’ idiots....

I think you are trying to take a single example to prove a larger point.

Human emotion?  That is totally interpretative.  For everyone who says the defense will be super hyped for that play, others will say the Ravens just scored two TDs and have all of the momentum.  These are nebulous factors.  "Human emotion" is different to everyone who views it - and is totally interpretative and subjective.

I take objective over subjective every time.

Yes. It makes for a chaotic sequence, it's do or die, you either win or lose the game on that 1 play. Dope.

    Somebody going to answer this???

    Simple question...

What would have been the line on that 2 point conversion being a success?

You guys are trying to tell me it would have been an underdog at + money?

    Please.

Hey Vanzack - if it was a playoff game, would you still have gone for 2 ?

Nobody has made the best argument for NOT going for two at the end....

    The tie.

It just so happens that a tie would HELP the Ravens because of the divisional situation of being tied with the Bengals if they lose, and a half game up if they win.

If you make the argument to kick the EP, because there is a chance of a TIE in OT - now you have my attention.

Yes...50/50 coaches would..if you are a +9.5 dog and your back up QB is playing and you had no business winning the game...If Balty was the massive faves..they go to OT and kick extra point..You all forgetting that Rodgers is across the field...Lots of variables to consider.

why is there a debate? Say they kick the pat.  If I you were a raven fan I would not be comfortable with  Rodgers having 42 seconds and a time out.  That's more then enough to get in fg range.  Seen rodgers do it a ton of times before.  Ravens weren't going to stop them anyway, gb got conservative when up by 14, game should have been put away earlier.

    I would guess like -140 or -150

Rodgers in that situation would be at least -200

I think you are trying to take a single example to prove a larger point. Human emotion?  That is totally interpretative.  For everyone who says the defense will be super hyped for that play, others will say the Ravens just scored two TDs and have all of the momentum.  These are nebulous factors.  "Human emotion" is different to everyone who views it - and is totally interpretative and subjective. I take objective over subjective every time.

To give an example from another sport, you saying making 2 point conversion in the middle of the game or any other time but the final play is psychologically and pressure wise the same and no more difficult than making it at the end of a game is the same as saying making an NBA free throw to tie the game with no time left has the same level of difficulty and pressure as hitting a free throw in the third quarter with your team up by 10?!!  With all due respect Vanz, are you nuts, or do you think human beings are simply robots and feel no pressure? peace_5

Great point..We all forgot about that.....an_lightan_light....Part of Harbaugh's thinking...Now you see why Harbaugh went for 2..You are giving Rodgers 2 shots to win the game..in regulation and OT...

Depends what the success rate of the nfl 2 pt conversion is. If it's 50%, then the line would be -110

    @undermysac

I mean in THAT particular situation.

    Ravens / Packers

If there was a five minute delay - and there was to be a line put up - what would it be????

Even if it was -110 (which it wouldnt be), dont you think that makes the decision to go for it marginal in either direction?  THe whole point of this thread is Harbaugh is a complete moron.  What line would it take for him to be a complete moron???

Best kicker ever. Defense was ok. Bad call with your playoff life on the line. Go to ot. Win the toss, score a tuddy against a shit defense and youre in the playoffs. Now youre out

    Imo you kick the xp

    Tucker doesn't miss

Analytics doesn't account for the situation

They were at home they had the momentum

There doesn't seem to me a reason to force it when the flow of the game is on your side

That said, grey area.  But in this situation i kick the xp because i feel like I've got the momentum and I'm at home

Pack has 1 timeout i doubt the press it.  But if ravens get 2 they would

The problem with analytics is it can't take into account the feel of the game.  It's a bunch of math ruled, that's it. Go for 2 and tge win every time, no matter what

    @puds

I had teaser ML so I won. Baltimore 2 for 7 now 2 for 8 on 2 point conversions - guess what they're not good or successful at 2 point try. Will it cost them their division?  Yep
