We get a rematch of Super Bowl 48. I remember not having high expectations of that game but it turned out to be a thriller and one of the most tense Super Bowl's I've ever watched. I had money on the Seahawks in that one and lost.
Fast forward to 2026, I've bet on 16 Super Bowls thus far, my record stands at 12-4 ats, with my last loss against Brady's Bucs in 2021. I think the Seahawks will win this time and I am rooting for Mike MacDonald, fantastic coach, wish we still kept him, but to cover is the question. I am debating whether this will be a blowout like the '85 Bears vs Patriots/'13 Seahawks vs Broncos or.... '14 Pats vs Seahawks. Currently leaning Seahawks but there are some intangible factors preventing me to jump on this early
Might have a bet in play by Sunday

Much respect DK one of the best on covers. I like the points. Josh always comes up with plays never ran during season. Regardless should be a great game

Considering your Super Bowl record, I'm glad you think Seattle will win as I already bet Seattle moneyline -205 at DraftKings as soon as the line opened.
All I hope for is that Sam Donald has a clean game. If he plays like Stroud, then my bet is dead.
I also lost on Seattle and Tampa Bay that you lost.

Yep, I got the fresh memory to me on that infamous slant pass call by the Seahawks at one yard Pats goal line. OC Darrell Bevell made that busted call, common belief is HC Pete Carroll made that call but not him. It was called by Bevell.
I got Seahawks -1 in that game.

Ironically, that SB XL game is currently rerunning at NFL Network.

Yep I just caught a snippet of it over an hour ago!
Seahawks RedZone offense has come alive recently and Patriots RedZone defense has also come alive too where they have normally been average for most of the season ! maybe it comes down to that again?

Most of the Pats' past Super Bowl games were pretty close ones, I concur. Maybe, I will take take a Pats +14.5/Seahawks +5.5/Over 34.5 teaser. I remember one time Don Juan has posted a teaser play on his SB pick.
Good luck, keep your SB record hot DK!

My bad, it is actually SB XLIX, not SB XL.

@Digitalkarma OK Good luck on your Super Bowl pick digital! The way Seattle’s been playing lately as well as their defense it’s hard not to Bet um…
Thank you and GL, on paper the Seahawks should statistically whoop them, they have a bit more of a home field advantage playing at Levi's and seems like they got everything lined up for them. There's a few things that are holding me back from taking them.

It feels easy to be swayed by the Seahawks in the Super Bowl with the way their offense has almost effortlessly piled on the points and a defense that is showing some swagger that had been missing since the Legion of Boom days. Let's not also forget special teams which has been a huge factor in getting to where they are now. An all-round solid team. Seahawk's road to the Super Bowl looked more impressive by comparison to the Patriots where it was a fortuitous yet uphill battle of attrition, with an offense that struggled, but did just enough to help the team get a win and a defense that stepped it up. Perhaps the Patriots defense when thrown into the fire might be better than we give them credit for. Not to take anything away from their fantastic regular season, easy schedule or not, the Patriot Way is back and does have shades of 2001 all over again and that's what scares me a bit.
Throw analytics and DVOA out the window the regular season feels like it was over long ago. The Seahawks are statistical champs on paper, but it will have to be proven on the biggest stage. Winner takes all. Pressure can do some funny things and get the best of the best. It's not all about the X's and O's, but the intangibles will come into play here and I feel like the Patriots have it.
The Pats wouldn't be in this position if it weren't for Mike Vrabel. He's got his team believing and those playoff experiences will only benefit his young QB a bit more. Vrabel's preparation will be invaluable in the Super Bowl. Vrabel is 6-2 SUATS with 2 weeks to prepare, 3-1 SUATS in the dog role when with extra prep. He did lose a BYE week game earlier this season to the Bills by only 4 but didn't cover. He will have his team prepared. The other intangible is the luck factor which would be things like turnovers, and big plays. I will be shocked if the Pats defense doesn't come away with a few takeaways as they have ratcheted up a notch. It will be interesting because the Seahawks have taken better care of the ball as of late, but it's something to keep an eye on because they're notorious for it this season and hope that bad habits don't come into play on the biggest stage. I think the Patriots will put up a dogfight but fall just short of re-enacting the first Patriot dynasty. Then again maybe it will be 2001 all over again I wouldn't be shocked.
Patriots +4.5(-108)
