DK gets his wish as Ravens fire Coach Harbaugh

Bad decision by Ravens brass. Personally I felt Monken was the issue. 

Very poor decision 

His message had gotten stale it happens to even good coaches.. ie Andy Reid at Philly.  Please steal Tomlin.. Pretty please..

Ravens should have gotten rid of Lamar & not Harbaugh.

What was the message? 

And draft a new, unproven QB and just start all over again when they have a team that is close to being very good?

 The same message that happens in many 18 yr old partnerships... Its just time for a change.

John Harbaugh? He didn’t kick the field goal.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports a “key pressure point” in John Harbaugh’s firing was “his refusal to entertain” moving on from OC Todd Monken.

Why?  It is a winning message. 
You have no guarantee the next guy wins. 
Why do like so, so many other franchises because you did not win a SB?  
That is part of the reason so many franchises don’t — they keep changing coaches, win or lose.

lamar is not a winner, that shit is clear, firing Harbaugh is not smart unless they decided to go full on tank mode while they search for the next franchise QB and coach.

What is Lamar’s record 

Ravens will suffer from this firing. 

Injuries wrecked the Ravens' season. Harbaugh is a winner.

I'm a bit surprised considering the Ravens still fought to the end and didn't just tank the season. I thought he would be onboard for one more season. Interesting indeed.

 regular season player, until he proves he can do it in the playoffs, I don't really care lol.  8 long years and his postseason record is abysmal, 3-5?? and never even made it to championship rounds despite multiple times as the odds on favorites to win it all.

I wouldn't have fired him this season due to his history and how many injuries they had this season and not having Lamar for a lot of the season. The OC wasn't good enough. Had that embarrassing loss week 1 vs Bills and that bad loss after blowing lead vs Pats didn't help, but Harbaugh didn't miss a 44 yard FG as time expired vs Sleelers. So he isn't fired if Loop doesn't pull a Cundiff?

If ravens won he would still be there coach Today and next year

Wanted them to fire Orr, and put Monken and Harbaugh on notice for the final time , but all those blown leads were just too much it obviously coaching was the issue. Harbaugh is a good cheerleader and people's person, but the X and Os and situational game planning not as good. 

Wherever Harbaugh coaches next, he'll make that team competitive. Give him some credit for his past successes but it just wasn't working anymore in Baltimore

I get that is a knock on him.  But who isn't it a knock on besides Mahomes.

Then the next knock is he can't get to the SB.  That is the knock on Allen now.

Very, very few QBs are 'winners' in the playoffs.  

It is simply too hard to make it there -- let alone win.

I get what you are saying though.

I am just not so sure that all of the fans want to start all over with their franchise.

Many, many teams in the NFL would trade their record for what the Ravens have been doing for the last 18 years.

 I guess.  But when you say it wasn't working anymore -- don't you mean just this year.

Look at what they did the past few years.

Then this year the injuries, especially to Lamar, and they still almost made it.

So, it may have worked again next year just as it has been working.  I think firing him after one 'sort of down' years was not great.
