All I can tell is Lions are very far away from reaching to the SB.  Period.

Lions gamble too much with the 4th downs. 

They will have to score alot of points and be aggressive on 4th down to win it all..The Lions will probably need to win the turnover battle as well these Playoffs..Tough road with all the injuries on Defense..

They have the best Offensive Line in the NFL bar absolutely none. The most talented offense in the league RB's Jamyhr Gibbs and David Montgomery (Craig Reynolds will fill in for David until he returns for the playoffs) Tim Patrick, Jameson Williams (the fastest wide out in the entire league) Amon Ra St Brown, Sam Laporta, Brock Wright. They are missing three key pcs on defense Jalen Maybin Alex Anzalone and Aidan Hutchinson. Jalen Maybin will be back Sunday against the Vikes Alex Anzalone will be back for the playoffs and Aidan Hutchinson is running full tilt in the pool now and he will return for the SB when they reach it. They have one of the best ball hawks on the back end in Kerby Joseph proof last night with two key interceptions baits the qbs so well. For eveyone else in this thread JUST WATCH.

Oh forgot Emanuel Moseley final had the confidence and played his first game last night against his old SF team he will only get better every game now back at one of the CB spots.   No they are not a playoff team.    It has always amazed for the years I have spent on covers members posting crap when they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.      Just my prediction but the Lions will get their 2nd shot at Buffalo in the big game.

The Lions defense is nowhere near super bowl ready but they are a playoff team, being 14-2 with one game to go.

@C-70Blues it will be come SB they don't have to worry about any team in the NFC.    Read my post Jalen Maybin be back Sunday to face the Vikes and Alex Anzalone will be back for the playoffs in two weeks those are the only two huge pcs they need and they are huge change that Defense 70%.    And Aidan Hutchinson said get me to the SB and i'm playing.     The orthopedic surgeon who repaired  Hutchinson's leg said both breaks were clean and very easy to repair.

 

 

Handicapping football is so much more than "these guys are coming back so watchout" and "get me to the SB and I'm playing." I noticed that you, among many others here, do not mention anything about coaching. Dan Campbell is a 'balls to the walls' type of coach and winning the Super Bowl is about making smart decisions for your team, not going for it on every fourth down because "that's what we do." Go back and watch the Lions conference championship game from last season and see the decisions he made when the game was on the line. Spoiler alert - the Lions lost after blowing a 24-7 halftime lead.

Of all the defensive starters you mentioned, you didn't say Alim McNeil.

Defensive tackles usually go under appreciated. That dude did a lot of dirty work.

@undermysac yeah left Alim out not sure he will make it back but the Lions still have enough talent to make it to the game and hopefully pull off the win. Never been a Sam Darnold guy we will see how he makes out in front of 55,000 to 60,000 ravid fans in Ford Field this Sunday think thats a huge pc of the puzzle need that number 1 seed.
