Of course everyone deserves their day in court and presumed innocence before being judged as guilty but beating all 12 counts might prove to be a daunting task. This 12 number of sexual assaults does exceed Cuomo's count of 8 so far...

I would be more sympathetic but the fandom which supports their ridiculous salaries has grown weary of being preached to by habitual criminals who can't keep their schwanz in the pants or their anger leading to physical attacks at bay. Football players seem to suffer from delusions of grandeur...

If it was 2-3 women then he could fight it...But when its 14 women and possible more........Bye Bey Watson...That 150+ million contact extension will be voided and signing bonus the texans will fight to get back....

For sure, and so far he's "only" been paid $7.4MIL of the $27MIL bonus for last year (payable over 5 years).  Not sure if they can retro sue for a do-over.  Any contract law guys?

He's due another $5.4MIL on the bonus this season.  NFL set up as being an entertainment business, so there's all kinds of morals clauses, etc, etc...hurting the team brand, etc.

Only paid $1.1MIL on contract last season; due for $10.5MIL on the contract this year.  Can't see them paying if he's not playing, and Roger the Dodger will have to earn some of his money for a change.  Gonna make the lawyers richer and D.Watson much much poorer.

Some 'folks' out there eternally playing the race card theorize that the Texans' ownership is paying off all of these women to destroy Watson...I am certain there are jibronies on covers who believe it. I would venture a guess and say that all of those women are not legit in their claims...but that some are. 

I am wondering if Watson knew about these pending charges/allegations months ago, and if so, was this the motivating factor in him wanting to be traded? Did he think that by doing a geographical, he would be somehow freed from the impending doom? 

Watson was his own worst enemy...but most of us are. Few can learn from another's mistakes...most of us learn from our own lapses in judgment.

If the Texan's did know even a small % of this ongoing story lets say even 2-3 weeks ago before the sh$t hit the fan.....man they blew it.

It is very possible this guy never plays another down or at least not for many more years and Houston could have got a king's ransom for him and they did not even have to lower their asking price (which they constantly denied having) which would have been 3 1st's and Q. starter or 2.

All i know is as of about a week or so ago when a trade was still very possible that is no longer possible (no owner would allow a GM as crazy as the GM would be) to make ANY trade that there are around a half dozen teams that are collectively exper. a HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF in having their offers.....listened to or not....by the Texan's go through....+ down in SE Texas there are many now saying "dam if only we would have made a trade"...almost any trade would look good now even 2 1st's and 2 starters and why the Texan's org. did not move on that IF they knew even 1/4 of this story as it stands today + i think they did and more then that makes their inaction on Watson a bigger......much bigger mistake then trading DeAndre Hopkins to ARZ for what they got in return last year and that one is hard to top for insanity.

I guess it's possible if things drag out Watson might play this year but how well would that be......esp. with the woke leftist protests dominating his life outside of between the lines.

After this year playing if he is lucky....this year...well not for a while for sure.

Until there is a criminal case against Watson, this is just a scumbag lawyer trying to shakedown Watson.  

You always want the criminal prosecution to take place first, let them do all the work, put people under oath, forensics, subpoenas, warrants, etc, then you step in and have an easy civil case.

Good points, Thorpe...make them put up or shut up, with the threat of filing false police reports and false court docs.

But I seem to recall reading early on that Rusty Hardin told the accusers' lawyer to buzz off when he wanted to talk settling.

Have to wonder how up front honest Watson was with Hardin...did Hardin know a month ago that the flood gates might open up?

I agree with you that the current state of affairs doesn't prove anything, but as we all know things can get outta hand to the point that Watson's lawyer would need to bring in PR team to sort it all out and fight back in the media.  Can Hardin even trust his client right now?  

We heard a few snippets in the news about Dabo having Deshaun's back, but if the rumors about Clemson stuff start to percolate, and if they start to press Dabo about what he knew, etc...wow...slippery slope for a lot of folks.

Right now it's gotta be a coin flip if he plays in 2021, considering the NFL and their calculations of good and bad.

 There was no criminal charges against Big Ben.. he settled out of court.  This in 2021... in the last10 year all the Hollywood sexual assaults against women..US gymnastics..Jeffrey Epstein....  USC just paid out $1 billion in settlement lawsuits this past week.. They not sweeping this under the rug..when u have 16+ women from 3 different states that have no connections to each other... if they sweep this under the rung and Watson commits something more serious 2 years from now.. the NFL’s brand will take a major hit...they not risking that and taking a chance to clear Watson who has won nothing in the NFL.. good player but hyped up way too much.
