was loving the blazers too before i saw how much the public is backing them...scary....on the face of it they look the far better side and beat up on eastern teams big-time but i get the sneaking feeling books are trying to draw as much action as possible on them..probably best to stay away.
disagree with you on the spurs, think that based purely on what has happened the past few weeks that wizards are the better side here.have to put aside traditional perceptions and instincts regarding power-house spurs squad and recognise each team for wat it is RITE NOW..one is trending up while the other is steady at best,if not down.wizards have shown they are talented, young and hungry and seem to relish taking on the big guns of the league lately.as you say whisky,i think if spurs opened -3/-4 or bigger then public wud have piled on wizards big time so needed it to be shorter for even action.
liking the clippers too and doesnt hurt that public is eating up the heat so far, hopefully that continues and maybe it even goes close to pik em

I don't blame you there man. My first instinct would be to instantly fade the Spurs at that number, but I'm worried because a lot of people are keen on the Spurs now, and I hope that line isn't just a smart way to get 50-50 or 60-40 action. That's why I'm not playing Portland or Spurs, period.

Clippers on the other hand purposely deflated numbers to a Miami team that will almost always be the public side, so they made that line for a reason.

    Good luck with your plays

Agreed on portland, popular play, just a lean for now, waiting the situation to evolve and see how that turns out. Still finding a hard time figuring out how knicks could take the game, may it be more a defensive approach or a total shootaround. I must say it's a more important game for the knicks than for portland though. Urgency is on the knicks side tonight, I had bet on washington on portland's previous game, finding washington in a great spot back at home and portland in a difficult spot to win (first east road game of the journey, long travel, 7th chance for the wizards to get above 0.500, wizards much improved defensive game, portland's drop of form... etc). However this could be a small turnaround of form for Portland IMO, ahead of their game in Indiana. But once again urgency is on the knicks side tonight.

    I'm not over thinking this.

I already got Portland. Line is slowly moving in back to -2.5 maybe will hit -3. I've seen the knicks play.

I dont see Portland in any kind of wierd spot. They are pretty well rested. Haven't play too many games and just started their east coast trip. They got shut down by a Wiz team that's 2x as good as the knicks so they should be ready to go tonight.

Like I said.... i did the numbers and they're giving you a line based on the last 5 to 7 games played for Portland and for the knicks. If you look deep the Knickls played a bunch of scrubs..... while Portland played top notch competition including 2 top 5 defenses in the league.

Staying away Spurs Wiz.... might hit Wiz just for 1U.... need to be discipline and just relax.

If Melo takes all those dumb behind shots with no ball movement then the Knicks will lose.  He does it all the time.  I am a Knicks fan and if Melo knew how to create shots for himself and his team they would win a lot of times.  He wants the accolades though and anytime a team plays the Knicks they have a shot of beating the garbage out of them but they did lose to the Bucks the other night and if that doesn't get them a little pissed off then they will get booed out of the Garden tonight.  They know Portland will bring their A game and on paper Portland is way better but watch out for the Knicks tonight.  Just the mindset I am thinking with them.

-2 is still a solid number, mush. Numbers say the line should be Clips -4.5 at least, so you're getting great value even at that number.

If you're still unsure, moneyline is worth a play, I'd say.

You're assessing Melo and his game completely wrong. Melo is the reason they have a small shot at beating good teams.

Knicks have been moving the ball somewhat ok last couple of games in the Garden and the Tempo moved up. That plays well into Portland's style.... they dont shy away from points. I dont think defensively the Knicks can stop them even if Portland has an off shooting night.

Melo is a gunner.  They were down 5 the other night to the Yucks and he comes down and takes 1 dribble then a turn around fade away shot.  He tends to mess the rhythm of the game up in crucial times.  Spurs stay so consistent on winning because of the great ball movement.  The Knicks need to get back to that in order to stay in games.  I say they come to play tonight knowing they will be on national tv too.  Just be careful of taking that Portland play.  I wouldn't bang it but then again my name isn't SUPERMUSH for a reason.  BOL!!

Very early but I think I'm cooked. Calling ticky tack 3 seconds on Clips, Miami looks focused tonight. If I can I'm going to try and hedge at halftime.

Good thing Melo is the only super start that never gets phantom calls, otherwise knicks had a legit shot at winning that game.

It's hilarious that Melo being the only superstar that gets hammered on almost every play is the same one that never gets calls. He never flops either.

It's actually pathetic..... good thing it worked out for me today lol.

Then people who know nothing about basketball say this guy isn't that good.... he's a ball hog... etc.

This guy is awesome..... wish had a real team around him. Never seen impede the offense on any all star or Olympic team he was on.

He's a great scorer like Kobe!!  If he goes down court and just heaves up shot after shot after shot its not called basketball.  He's the best shooter on the team and he feels he has to do everything.  I am a Knicks fan like I said before so I would love to see them win but that's the main reason they don't win because of his dumb shots at crucial times in the game.  Again look at the Spurs and see why they are unreal every year because of ball movement.  The Knicks last year moved the ball and was winning.  When Melo gets the ball he takes some stupid behind shots.  Again he's a great shooter and that's about it but he doesn't think the game out either.  You must be a stat king too and ew and aw about how he makes some great shots...lolol...F the cool looking shots lets see wins, lets see ball movement.

I'm going to bed guys. 0-1 night. Clips play loses. Yeah, I know, I know, it's still early, but this thing was dead from the opening quarter just from reading the Heat's body language. They came to play and the Clips were a well-oiled turnover machine that turned the ball over any chance they got.

    Tracked plays 15-6.

I don't think the books fared very well tonight and when that happens, they tend to adjust. Beware the public plays tomorrow. I'm going to keep that in mind when I check the lines out.

Goodnight and congrats to those who faded.

Tomorrow looks tough from the onset. Spurs will probably be exhausted going into tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if Pop sits everybody, actually.

If the line is BK +7.5 or 8, it would be worth taking a shot at that line.

You have to understand something. THEY HAVE A LIMTED ROSTER. They dont have guys that can shoot well. They have guys that can rebound and they dont have good on ball defenders. Their back court is useless they cannot create of the dribble. What is ball movement going to do for you when you're shooting 42%. Aside form teh kid Hardaway everyone else is a chucking brick layer.

Notice how Hardaway is the one bright spot aside from Melo. Becuase he has true athelic talent and hes long. He can also stroke it nicely. Now you ad a couple of more guys like that and a half decent PG then feckin talk to me about ball movement and how MELO stops the flow. When he's the only one that BRINGS IT every night he's aint stopping shiit.... he's the team buddy.

Tell me who else can score on a nightly basis on this team? JR smith? That guy is a feckin joke and is unbelievably overrated from an athletic stand point. He's dribble is mediocre and his shooting sucks. He has not touch so when he's off its a super fast break going the other way cuz he's clanking it off the rim really bad.

Get Melo a few more dudes like Hardaway..... it's game over. The dude almost beat the pacers last year in the playoffs by himself with one shoulder and one knee. He was playing hurt the whole playoffs. No one knows that cuz he's not a crying flapper making excuses.

    might just sit out tomorrow......

Early looks I like the bulls against this chucking golden state team. Bulls not a good team to find your shooting rhythm against when you're laying bricks like they are. And yes I like Brooklyn a lot.... need to see of Blatche and Kirilenko are playing.... that will be key.
