Not playing in your own arena, especially one like MSG where if you don't go 100% and play with energy you'll get booed.

Although I admit tonight there might be Knicks fans and Brooklyn fans aren't great. But it's clear that NY plays way better at MSG than on the road.

NY is 13-5 ATS at home and 2-7 ATS on the road. They show up at home and lay eggs on the "road". However, I agree that tonight the gap is probably smaller than usual vs their cross-town opponent.

See...I like the knicks tonite and when I read that they aren&#x27;t a good pick because they are playing in the road, 20 MINUTES AWAY, I like them even more. Question: if the Jets were to play the Giants and the Jets are the road team, is there an advantage for the Giants considering the play in the sane arena? Just wondering here

[/Quote]so in a roundabout way, you&#x27;re basically agreeing with me, and you&#x27;re just trying to be contrarian? Okay.Road games are harder because of playing in a different arena, yes. But this is New York. Same people, same attitudes. Knicks fans will be there, and it&#x27;s not as if a Nets home crowd is partisan to the point of fear. The MAIN factor which determines a team being bad on the road IS travel - distance, breaking routines, keeping different hours etc. It&#x27;s a combination of these things, but i simply do not think any of it comes into play today.The line is &#x2B;1, and I feel that the &#x27;home&#x27; advantage being basically a non-factor has played a part in deciding this line.

MSG is a pretty electric place to play and they might not be playing with the same energy on the road. &#xA;So putting it back to you: the only factor that goes into road/away games is travel? the Knicks lost in Houston, in Atlanta, in Orlando. Those are reasonably long trips. Yes, they got pumped in Toronto, but also kept it VERY close in Chicago and won in Cleveland. Sometimes you need to look deeper into that. The Knicks do worse, the further they have to travel. tats can become quite skewered sometimes IMO

I look at two major things here:1. Experience: are you a young team or do you have vets who know the mindset it takes to play on the road? What about your coach? How do he rally grown men?2. Travel and routines: sleeping in your own bed as opposed to the stress of sleeping in a hotel? Meetings in the hotel as opposed to the facilities at home? What about meals, nutrition? Packing the bags? Being away from the family. Your body is on s clock when you play at home; a comfort zone. When you travel you deal with time zones, weather, delays; there are less controlled variables on the roadSo for tonite, sure the knicks aren&#x27;t playing under the lights but with it still being NYC, the same time zone, basically the same routines, no real travel stressors....I&#x27;m very confused how a team like Brooklyn could hold any home court advantage over the Knicks. If the Nets win it won&#x27;t be because they are playing at home. If the Knicks lose it won&#x27;t be because they are 20 minutes away from the Garden. If it were such an advantage for Brooklyn, what&#x27;s up with the line? You mention ATS stats NBA INSIDER yet why is the line basically even? You have two young teams with two sh@t coaches. How bright the lights are won&#x27;t have any effect on this one tonite. My opinion.
