Tricky game.......Today maybe the 1st time refs & stats actually determine the outcome of the game since this is somewhat a 'must win' for the Heat & when this situation arises the league usually send in appropriate refs to save Miami. Refs very Heat friendly - I'm most likely going to have to sweat this one out today. I'm expecting a Miami win but my gut says Spurs. I'm not feeling comfortable w/ this bet for obvious reasons but going to ride out gut instinct that's been working for me throughout the playoffs.

Refs either going to get desperate & go full blown retard on the Spurs and make this real frustrating for them or they keep maintaining to keep it kinda low key like they did in the fist half for Miami. 2Q they gave the calls to Miami. It's not yet too crystal clear who they are favoring atm spite of those dumb obvious calls against Spurs in the 2Q. I won't know until the 4Q or when the game ends.

Also ref stats now 2-0 this finals -- Capers was 23-2 in heat games and won again tonight -- and Marc Davis is 7-0 in Spurs games and had game 1 -- damn refs are super lucky to match those mega percentages IMO

- soft foul on green after he sank he sand Spurs & his first shot. Sent Lewis to the line. - 2 fouls on green - alot of contact on Duncan - no foul call - horrible foul call on Leonard agaisnt lebron
2Q
MIA 6 FT - SAS 3 FT MIA 3 PF - SAS 6 PF
- Miami got the calls - Tech on Duncan after no foul call - horrible call on Ginoboli - Wade flop
Half Time:
MIA 10 FT - SAS 6 FT MIA 6 PF - SAS 9 PF
3Q
MIA 6 FT - SAS 7 FT MIA 7 PF - SAS 6 PF
- Spurs got the calls
4Q
MIA 5 FT - SAS 8 FT MIA 7 PF - SAS 5 PF
- horrible illegal screen call on Duncan - called a 24 second violation on miami when ball hit the rim and Spurs were about to go on a fast break (after Diaw hit a big 3 to tie the game.
End Game
MIA 21 FT - SAS 20 FT MIA 20 PF - SAS 20 PF
Clearly Spurs did not get the home cooking calls here and i guess that's the refs reputations when officiating Heat games. they obviously did not give the advantage to the rival team. From what i saw Miami had the advantage in 3 quarters and Spurs got the calls in only the 3rd Quarter. Miami had 10 Ft's at the half to Spurs 6 ft's @ the half...considering the scores were tied it meant a great difference in what was a very close game throughout, w/ many lead changes. Green & Leonard are both crucial to Spurs and they were both given foul troubles - 2 very early fouls on Green and as i mentioned above his first was pretty much a very early and very horrible call against Lewis wich sent him to the line.

in regards to refs. i base mostly on the matchup stats provided here on covers.

Forgot to post G1 FT/PF stats. So it looks like in both games the teams that won got the calls. It's as simple as that. G1 had the bigger disparity, especially in FT's w/ Spurs attempting 11 more FT's than Miami. G2 was more subtle in regards to when you look at the boxscore but ingame could see that the refs gave the favorable calls to Miami. Game 3 refs will be up in just over an hour. Will be interesting - I'll predict Mccutchen as one of them, if not the head Ref.

Spot on, again!
Here's what i wrote about McCutchen in last years finals:
Let's
wait & see who they send for game 5. I think maybe somebody like
Monty McCutchen or Jason Phillips if Spurs are to win.
--------------------------------------
Monty Mccutchen In the last 2 playoffs reffing Heat games:
game 5 bos/mia ecf finals 2012 (bos win) game 4 dal/mia (dal win) game 1 mia/okc (okc win)
Only exception is he ref'd game 5 of the mia/okc game where Miami eventually won the finals."
--------------------------
Stats
above don't lie. Refs today heavily favored Spurs. Just as Joe Crawford
& Scott Foster favor Miami - Monty Mccutchen is the antithesis of
those two refs and is the anti-Heat ref. Miami is now 1 of 5 when
Mccutchen is reffing their game in the last
3 playoff seasons. It's no coincidence they sent this crew for game 5.
& no coincidence or a lucky guess i've called who the refs are for 2
games straight."
-----------------------------------------
McCutchen & Brothers reff'd game 5 of last seasons ECF between Miami & Pacers. Indy won by 14pts. That same crew also ref'd game 1 of that series but Miami ended up winning by a pt in OT. To me Indiana were getting the calls but Miami played a hell of a game. Regardless Miami were 2-6 when McCutchen refs their game by the end of the series.
McCutchen & Brothers then whent on to ref game 1 of last years Spurs/Heat finals, in wich Spurs won in Miami. McCutchen & Brothers together again in game 5 - Another Miami loss. So that made it Miami 2-8 w/ McCutchen reffing.
McCutchen ref'd game 3 EC BK/Heat semi's these playoffs - Miami lost by 14pts.........
...........But interestingly enough the crew reffing this game 3 ref'd game 3 of the ECF between Indy/Miami wich Miami won. That would now make them 3-9 in the last 3 seasons when Mccutchen is reffing.
That game 3 was when i got burnt for initially liking Miami but turned the other way when i saw McCutchen & seeing the refs stats favor the rd team (when line 5-9.5). So this may be my retribution game.

Interesting.... Ref crew+70% miami consensus Miami is dangerous at home though. The pick here is no play?
well the talk is now how Miami will win the championship, how Spurs are in trouble because Lebron locked down Parker, how will Spurs guard Lebron after Leonard has been missing etc. etc. etc. And as you stated how will Spurs win when Miami are very tough at home & this being their first game in front of their fans. Plus things like missing FT's coming back to haunt the Spurs.......... sets this all up for a play on Spurs doesn't it?!

Gonna be tough going against this Heat squad in their first game back at home. Seems Spurs are against all odds.......except the refs. I think refs are starting to really influence outcome as this series progresses.
