Beware all ye who think yer stealin' tonight with the Craptors +7.  As you know, the Heat just got humiliated in their last game, getting drubbed at home by 28 points.  Well, you're not going to believe how well the Heat have responded to such indignities over the last calendar year.  Check out how angry the Heat have become after losing a game by at least 15 points:

Exactly one year ago today, the Heat lost at home to Milwaukee, 98-83.  In their next game, getting 8 at home against the Lakers, the Heat won, 89-87.  (covered by 10 points)

On January 21st, the Heat lost at home to Boston, 98-83.  In their next game, getting 7.5 at home against the Magic, the Heat won, 103-97.  (covered by 9.5 points)

On January 31st, the Heat lost at home to Dallas, 111-96.  In their next game, laying 9 at home against the Clippers, the Heat won, 119-95.  (covered by 15 points)

On February 10th, the Heat lost at home to Denver, 99-82.  In their next game, getting 4.5 against the Bulls in Chicago, the Heat won, 95-93.  (covered by 6.5 points)

On February 22nd, the Heat lost in Orlando, 122-99.  In their next game, laying 4 at home against the Pistons, the Heat won, 103-91.  (covered by 8 points)

On March 26th, the Heat lost 106-87 in Chicago.  In their next game, laying 8.5 at home against the Bucks, the Heat won, 102-85.  (covered by 8.5 points)

On April 19th, the Heat lost Game 1 in Atlanta, 90-64.  In Game 2, getting 6 against the Hawks in Atlanta, the Heat won, 108-93.  (covered by 21 points)

On April 29th, the Heat lost Game 5 in Atlanta, 106-91.  In Game 6, laying 4.5 at home against the Hawks, the Heat won, 98-72.  (covered by 23.5 points)

On November 18th, the Heat lost 105-90 in Atlanta.  In their next game, getting 3 against the Raptors in Toronto, the Heat lost, 110-103.  (failed to cover by 4 points)

On December 3rd, the Heat lost 114-96 in Denver.  In their next game, getting 12.5 against the Lakers in L.A., the Heat lost, 108-107.  (covered by 11.5 points)

So, that's 8-2 SU & 9-1 ATS for the Heat off a loss of at least 15 points, covering the spread by an average of 11 points per game.  At home, they're even stronger, going a perfect 6-0 SU & ATS, covering by an average of 12.4 points per game.

It's really bugging me that they didn't cover that game in Toronto against the Raptors, thus depriving me a glittering 10-0 ATS trend.  Maybe they'll be extra fired-up tonight to defeat the one team they couldn't beat following a bad loss, or maybe they just don't match up well with the 2009 Pile of Craptors.  Anyways, I'll be laying the points tonight with Miami as I look for another big bounceback effort.

    Miami -7 +108 risking 9.4 units (Matchbook)

    Miami -6.5 -101 risking 3 units (Catalina)

I'm a little weary of taking the Heat in this spot, but that's mostly due to the fact that i'm a Raptors fan... for some inexplicable reason...

    ***sigh***

Raptors will cover, if not win straight up. Wade is banged up, entire Heat team in disarray. Raptors match up too well with the Heat, this isn't the game they'll break out of this funk.

Mr Bator always well documented ... but, so far all the write ups and stats pointed me in the wrong direction  (See Denver game a few days ago ..... )

Today it's obvious that Raptors are the team coming in the game with nothing to lose, and the pressure is on Mia. Tor played relatively good lately , and I don't see them losing by 7. They might lose the game, but a blow out ???? I doubt it .
JJ brought that some-some to this team, and hopefully Hedo will confirm (as in the  HOU game) ... will be a close one probably 110-107 Miami win .... )
    GL though !

I went 4-3-1 on Sunday.  I got screwed by getting stuck with St. Louis +13.5 and finding out after the game started that someone I'd never heard of and who had never started a professional game was quarterbacking the Rams (wussy Kyle Boller reported a sore box during warmups, thus giving the start to some guy named Keith Null).

Relax, you have nothing to worry about.  When I start a thread, the play loses.  So you're in!

this stat you point out is bogus

the team has practically given up on their coach.. everything cannot be explained by past trends and numbers

On April 29th, the Heat lost Game 5 in Atlanta, 106-91.  In Game 6, laying 4.5 at home against the Hawks, the Heat won, 98-72.  (covered by 23.5 points) Error #2

Error # 1: Heat covered by 13.5 pts
Error # 2: Heat covered by 21.5 pts

But the argument for MIA is solid. This team has self-respect.
