Dwight in and out.
Rondo not on the team for 3 of those games.
Josh Smith not on the team for one of those games.
Parsons in those games for several (who is he know).
Lots of flux in those regular season games.
The playoffs? Lots of stability on the Rockets side, more instability on the Mavs side, and if Dwight is questionable in any way, he has a lot to take a load off him this year. Can't say the same for the Mavs who appear to be rushing Parsons back for a reason.

I don't see Dallas winning at all precisely because of the Rockets going 0-2 to open up the series last year (and remember, the final paly of their last playoff game was Lillard's 3 gutting them). So I only need to get over 5 and I like that number.
They will come with authority today.

Dallas is a veteran team and I don't see why they would lay down 5 puts. Chandler is a beast in the paint and Howard is soft as clay. Houston will struggle at the freethrow line when they are up by single digits. Monta will hit 3 pt shots late in the game and IF they lose it will be by a field goal not a touchdown.

Since Howard came back the Rockets haven't faced any adversity. I actually think this will hurt them b/c everybody knows Harden will take the last shot. By that time he's in a rhythm, but with Howard in the lineup down the stretch they never seemed to mesh. Harden suffers b/c of it.
I just think Dallas steals game one w/Dirk last second shot.

this is tough scal but 5pts is alot to cover agianst a dallas team with 3 potential allstars with a good coach. I do see the rockets winning but not covering, guarding that pf spot has always been a problem for the rockets. but you do have great points. you see any other games? i like the clips tomorrow against the spurs.

Scal, great writeup as usual. I actually think the Mavs have a good chance in this series. Honestly, I would've picked them to win the series but Rondo is a chemistry killer. I said to everybody it was a bad trade. The Mavs lost key depth and paired a terrible 3 pt shooter with Monta Ellis (another below average 3 pt shooter). This move caused more opponents to sag in on defense and take away Dirk and Parsons. I'm waiting on the Cavs/Bulls series. Good luck on your pick tonight

Pablo isn't running the team. He's the backup and provides a nice bit of veteran leadership (albeit overseas leadership) to a potentially volatile bench core (Josh Smith/Brewer).
They run a two shooting guard set with Terry and Harden now which is fine by me. More shots for a red hot Harden (who will end up taking them anyway) and Terry has a bit of a revenge angle.

Tyson Chandler is a beast if a beast is defined as a gerbil. He'll get his rebounds. He has the height to do that. Beyond that, they may not run a single play all game to him.
I don't know if you saw Dwight vs. Portland last year but he was spectacular and made up for a great deal of Haden's falloff.

Not true. Every team has to adjust to a new offense when a big name comes back from injury be it Lowry or Dwight or Kobe etc.
Harden is 'suffering' because he is adjusting. And his triple double in the final game of the year with Dwight (in a game they needed for seeding) pretty much refutes your point.
