Are you leaning Clippers? Spurs lose 3 in a row to the Clips? After that terrible loss after the All-star break, when they were up by 9 in the 3rd and Duncan blew a bunny that would have put them up by 11? A couple of 3 pointers later it was a 3 point game. And the rest is history.

The Rockets have a better, more veteran roster than last season and they absolutely sizzle at home. 30-11 SU and 26-14 Ats at home... hard to go against that... and I don't see the Mavs playing good in the 1st game. Maybe the 2nd game but not the 1st.

I'm not wild about game 1. Clippers lost game last year so they'll be ready. But so will SA. Rather wait it out and take the loser in game 2.

Oh, and Leonard was 1-11 in that game in LA. Granted, Blake didn't play.

I would be going for the clippers in game 1...too much athleticism for the spurs,without splitter they will be pounded on the boards.La at full potential now...scary ream i have to say,and just 2 points fav isn't the mirror of them.

Leaning Rockets here but 5 is just too much for me against a great coach like Carlisle. Gonna livebet this one. I just hope the Rockets would not blow up the Mavs early so I can get a great price.

Great write up scal. Lots of thoughts and angles. I've been preaching for a while now about Dallas being dead last in the league in turn over margin and having the highest combination of a starting 5 in the league. Now add to it a rusty Chandler Parsons back into the mix...I can only see their chemistry worsening.

To play devil's advocate, the rockets depth has always been in question. I don't like josh smith defending dirk. Carlisle is a great coach. Dallas has a good playoff history. But that's the past.

Carlisle is playing w/ a weak hand IMO. Rajon Rondo and a rusty/ailing parsons is like being dealt a pocket 7,2(atleast for game one w/ parsons)

I understand the want to bet the ML. That kind of favorite is not something I can post that is worthwhile without a ML parlay (and I don't have a second team strong enough to parlay it with).

 

When it comes to the Clips, Blake not playing may be bigger than Kawai going 1-11.

BB's method is the right one, we should just sit out game 1 and fade the winner of 1, for Game 2. But if I have the extra income (hopefully I will after tonight), I think I'll take a shot at it.

Splitter? Gosh, the Spurs are 13 deep but the Clips will be pounding it more down low without him on the court, and they can really pound it.

Dirk will get his points. You just concede that from the start. A bigger question is who will guard Harden when Rondo sits (and will Rondo be effective and for how long)?The Beard talks a big game and he's one of the guys that can really back it up.
