Get that bucks coaching job ??
Let's not ever put a headset and mic back on and hear your basketball analysis.
Alright so file away, fade Bucks after first round of the playoffs. Doc Rivers hasn’t ever seen a second round playoff series he didn’t like to lose.

The only time Rivers was gifted a talented allstar type roster like Milwaukee, he managed not to eff it up and the Celtics win the title.
This Bucks team is just as good if not better than that Boston Big 3.
Doc is an NBA company man and the only short term fix that was available over text message...might as well pencil Milwaukee vs Boston in the ECF come June.

The Celtics won the NBA title in 2008 despite the sideline buffonery of Doc Rivers. Because of his piss poor coaching, the 66-win Celtics got extended to 7 games in both the 1st and 2nd rounds, losing all 6 road games. People were perplexed at the time as to why the mighty Celtics were having so much trouble dispatching the terrible 37-45 Hawks and then the medicore 45-37 Cavaliers. The answer to that question was the gravelly-voiced Rivers holding his team back in crucial moments again and again and again.
He will get your talented Bucks bounced fast by either the Celtics or the Sixers or maybe even some other team in the East. And you can forget about the NBA Finals.

Are you anticipating an injury to Joel Embiid?

No. That 2007-08 Celtics team was one of THEE greatest basketball teams ever assembled. You know how I know? Because they won the championship with Doc Rivers in tow!

It's like the least surprising thing ever that this guy weaseled his way into coaching another team with Championship expectations while he's been nothing but an utter failure with every team since that Celtics chip in 2008....and those players credit Thibs with constructing their defense to stop Kobe in that years Finals.
When he left the Clippers the players there talked about how lazy of a coach he is and how he's incapable of in-game adjustments. I was wary of these criticism when he became the coach of my Sixers, and it was all proven to be true.
Rivers is a "Player's Coach" to the extreme. He doesn't hold practices very often and even when he does, he doesn't participate in them as they are just glorified shoot-around's. Embiid has spoken about it several times once Nick Nurse was hired that they now have everyone on the floor involved in the offense instead of just him or Harden playing ISO-ball. He also relies on old veteran players to just come in and fill a spot on the roster, instead of teaching young players anything or giving them a chance to prove themselves on the court...No better example of this than Paul Reed who Rivers outright refused to play any meaningful minutes even though Reed tore it up in the G-League and looked great during garbage time, instead Rivers opted to play Deandre Jordan, Paul Millsap, Montrez Harrell and Dewayne Dedmon and the Sixers defense got cooked when Embiid sat.
After the media and fans on social media hounded him about Paul Reed, he finally played him and Reed balled out. You would think Rivers would be happy for his young player, but instead was pissed in the post-game when reporters asked him about Reed's performance saying "We're not going on a Paul Reed victory-tour". This just showed how insecure and toxic this guy is at being a supposed leader of an NBA team.
There was also a game when the Sixers lost after leading by 24 points in the 2nd half, and a reporter asked him "how much of this loss is due to coaching?" and Doc snapped back "would you ask Pop (Gregg Popovich) that question"??? His narcissistic ass believes he's on the same level as Popovich.
Also...when Milwaukee hired Adrian Griffin they also hired a consultant to "advise" their new coach...that consultant was none other than Doc Rivers. So the guy who got axed after 43 games was getting advice from the guy you hired to come take his place...

Yes, I fully expect to see a broken down Embiid come late May...this team is flawed and has no quality playoff style depth on the bench...also, Nick Nurse will be outclassed and outcoached when it matters the most.
Doc Rivers was brought in fully knowing he's simply the low IQ caboose train driver who's only job is to keep the wheels on the rails and let Giannis & Lillard do whatever they want during the regular season. I fully expect Doc to take his double Cialis cocktail once the playoffs come and he will act the role when the cameras are rolling.
TBH, I was really hoping Phil Jackson would have gotten the surprise hire for this season only because he knows how to win in the playoffs and knowing his ego he would have loved the opportunity to add to his number of rings.
We shall see how this all plays out in a few months.

Outstanding post, BigMick87. Very informative. Condolences on the three lost seasons of Sixers basketball. I am rooting for them this season to win it all so that Doc Rivers may stand out yet again as the weakest link.

I don't want to make it seem like the players were innocent though either, Embiid and Harden OBVIOUSLY have their faults, especially in the playoffs. But Doc was an arrogant lazy ass the entire time he was here.
The 'tinfoil hat' in me thinks the NBA is trying to shoe-horn this dude into another NBA Championship since they already treat him like NBA royalty, but he's (rightfully) gained the reputation of an incompetent choker over the last 10 years.

Spoken like a man who has been screwed over by Doc more than he cares to remember. I followed those Celtic teams and initially thought he was a good coach. And he is. Just good enough to get your team bounced when they should be winning it all.

Rivers really good coach if he wasn’t teams wouldn’t always want his services. I like how people always talk about the big 3 and a given with them and a ring, but that is revisionist’s history. I remember them looking for old and slow during first preseason together you’ll be hard pressed to find any preseason articles talking about them and championship. Doc’s defense got them over the hump and he was the best at drawing up plays out of timeouts. Celts defense was unique and top notch the way they would wall off in the half court. The youngins only know ray Allen as a sharp shooter but he was a slasher, dribble drive, mid range and 3 pt guy before he came to celts. The “big 3” was on the downside of their careers and all had list a step and Garnett and Allen’s game was remodeled from what they once were.

Definitely seems like a great spot for Rivers. There must of been a conflict with coach inside organization to fire him like that?
Looking forward to watching this play out.

Speaking of weaseling his way back in, who is going to have to lose their roster spot to make room for the ultimate brick layer , Austin R.?

MR B, the most important thing to me is I might be able to watch a basketball game again on ABC or ESPN without listening to that voice.

Just what they need, another undersized wing who doesn't play defense
He looked comfy on ESPN the other day...wonder how he got that gig???
