Saw all the Oscar best pictures, what an awful selection of depressing movies. Boyhood, Theory of Everything, and Foxcatcher are so boring, I have no idea why they are up for any consideration. Imitation Game, American Sniper, and Whiplash were decent, but nothing amazing.

IMO Only 3movies have a chance to win best picture . Birdman, BoyHood, Grand Budapest . I think boyhood should win . Birdman was different and stuck with me but only because of the cinematography and kinda being confused to what I just watched . I mean I got the movie but I just didn't get it . BoyHood is a movie that still stays in my mind . Was just a rare piece that reay hits home on a lot of levels. Grand Budapest was great but not enough to beat those 2 IMO .
Best director I think it should go to Richard linkliter for boyhood . To hold a cast and a movie together for that many years (12-13) and to deliver such great film I just don't see how he shouldn't deserve it . Only other 2 would be birdmans director who I think hands down should win best cinematography and also he is the favorite for best director and also Wes Anderson for grand Budapest.
Best Actor -
Most people think it's eddie ray mane for Theory or 2nd favorite Keaton for Birdman . Bradley cooper could be a sleeper though . It's his 3rd nomination in 3 years . He won't win prob but I really thought cumberbatch did a great job . He would be my choice . Carrels transformation was authentic also but just not enough
Best Actress
Julian Moore is prob the biggest favorite out of any category to win this . It's her 5th nomination with no wins and she did a really good job so IMO I really liked rosamund pike in gone girl . Sleeper would be Reese Witherspoon .
Supporting Actor
Edward Norton was the only bright spot in Birdman for me and mark ruffalo was pretty good as well . But jk Simmons is prob the biggest favorite besides Julianne moore. And there's a reason for that . He finally is getting some credit
Supporting Actress
Don't even bother . I forgot she's an even bigger face
Patrice Arquette Boyhood.
Emma stone and Meryl Streep just cuz she's meryl Streep would be the only other chances but it's not gonna happen .
Those are the main ones . And besides supporting actress I really believe the 2nd and 3rd favorites in these categories all offer good value on there lines and could Pay out well . The favorites don't always win but there are some that were just too good . Gotta decide which ones are those and go for it.

Julianne Moore will win.
Michael Keaton has had a good career. But best actor for Birdman? I don't think so. Rednayne is good and I am sure the academy will give him the best actor. But personally I think the best acting job was done by Bradley Cooper. I know there is all this propaganda about American Sniper. But Cooper has already been nominated twice before this and has gotten better and better.
So if it was my vote it would be Moore and Cooper.

Locks - Moore, Simmons, Arquette. Yes, you can use L-word in betting where winner is determine by votes.
Heavy Fav - BM (Cinematography), Budapest (Prod Design)
Dark-horses given cur. odds: Cooper, American Sniper (Pic), Wild Tales (Foreign)

Don't underestimate the idiocy/progressive Oscar voting universe.#1 example last year BestPicture -12 Years an Afro-American Indentured Servant. Absent any epic nomination, don't discount any picture that has Ophrah saving the racist South from themselves and can weave Ferguson/Police Violence in to the theme and storyline.Hollywood crowd likes to pat themselves on the back. This is the original low informational voter group.Don't mean to turn this into Political Forum.

Best Picture and Director are as close as I can remember. I'm surprised so many people are picking against Linklater now for Best Director. After how much we've heard about 12 years making it and how well put together it is over that time, I can't imagine a scenario where Boyhood wins Best Picture but loses Best Director. Linklater deserves best director more than Boyhood deserves Best Picture but I did love Boyhood. I think if it wins, it wins both. I think Birdman will likely win best picture, but Boyhood wins Director.
The only acting category worth a shot is Best Actor and Keaton at 3-1 ish is definitely worth a shot. The others are wrapped up races.
Grand Budapest and Birdman are top 2 original screenplays. The Imitation Game and Whiplash are best 2 adapted screenplays.
Cinematography: Birdman
Costume: Grand Budapest
Editing: Boyhood
I'm gonna go makeup Guardians of the Galaxy. Might be a good Field bet here. Can see them spreading the wealth since Grand Budapest will sweep all of the other design awards.
Production: Grand Budapest
Score: Theory of Everything (Great score that really elevated the movie)
Song: Probably Glory. It's very overvalued though because it has two known artists . Everything is Awesome might be worth a shot or the country song could be a sleeper.
Sound Mixing and Editing Probably one for Whiplash and one for American Sniper
Animated Feature is a good area to pick an upset. Always good to go with a Disney Movie. The Japanese one could be a good sleeper to go with.
Documentary CitizenFour
Foreign Film Ida, Wild Tales seems like a good darkhorse.
Feast, Crisis Hotline and Ill say the live one is an upset. Boogaloo and Graham just sounds like one that wins.

Earlier this week I was thinking of doing what oldschooled mentioned, take Boyhood for both cause it should win one of them, but Im skeptical of doing that because I bet the field vs. Sam Smith for record and song and lost both of them.
