I heard all along that this remake was more loosely translated to the book, & therefore better.............BULLSHIT!

It's the same movie repeated.......word for word........except it reduces many fine actors to their worst performances in a long, long time.

Don't waste your time or money on this..........the original is by far the best.

Kind of a weak ending, but I thought the new one kicked ass.

The Coen Bros. didn't fuck it up. Other than miscasting the girl when she is a grown woman at the end, this movie was great. The girl was excellent

I watched this movie the other night. I love the Coen brothers and everthing they put out and this is an excellent western in the mode of anything Pechinpach or Sergio Leone produced. I got no problems with the grown woman at the end because that was what was needed to tie up the Rooster thread in the end. The Matt Damon character was just how the Bros wanted. This is a good Coen film.

The original was one of my fav flicks so I'm biased...........I just didn't see the remake being any better than the original. All this version did was attempt to make a $ off another generation of viewers with a contemporary production.

I'll admit I'm biased also. I never saw the JohnWayne TrueGrit because it was one of the last films he made but he was making films with the DefenseDept (GreenBerets) and generally bad-mouthing my right to protest an illegal war and not be a pawn of LBJ, the man who killed Kennedy. I also love anything Coen Bros put out.
