after watching, I read a good short description from a reviewer who called the movie "a George Orwell 1984 version of Gladiator". pretty good description of the basic plot.

the Mrs thought it was a "Gladiator" version of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" with the ruling class in Johnny Depp ( Mad Hatter) / Helena Bonham Carter (Queen of Hearts) costumes.
she's usually NOT a big "action" fan BUT she liked the movie esp the character of "Katniss Everdeen" (Jennifer Lawrence). she cried when the little black girl, "Rue" (Amandla Stenberg), who helps Katniss early on in "The Game", died
