"The Best of Bogart" on Turner Classic Movies Thursday Aug 1st

all time Pacific...

4:00 am High Sierra (1941) Bogie's first real "staring" roll as robber Roy Earle

6:00 am The Maltese Falcon (1941) Bogie as private eye Sam Spade with both Peter Lorre and Sydney Greenstreet at their menacing best

9:30 am The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) Bogie as treasure hunter Fred Dobbs. famous for the line "Badges? We Don't Need to Show No Stinking Badges!"

5:00 pm The Big Sleep (1946)Bogie as private eye Philip Marlowe.  Bogie and Bacall's second movie

7:00 pm Key Largo (1948) Bogie as the hero Frank McCloud to Edward G. Robinson's villain Johnny Rocco

9:00 pm The Caine Mutiny (1954) worth watching/recording just for the Bogie as Capt Queeg courtroom scene. maybe Bogie's best acted scene EVER and one of the best courtroom drama's on film. I had it posted on YouTube BUT the buggers took it down for "copyright infringement"

1:00 am (Aug 2nd) The Harder They Fall (1956) was Bogie's last movie as boxing writer Eddie Willis. a VERY under-rated movie that was instrumental in launching federal investigations into corruption in boxing in the 1950's. loosely based on the story of boxer Primo Carnera. definitely worth watching/recording IF you have never seen it
