Wanna know something that will blow your mind? The Saw series is one of the most profitable movie franchises over the past 20 years. The first four movies cost about $27-28 million total from a budgetary standpoint. Anybody wanna guess what it grossed worldwide from a revenue standpoint?
Try $560 million dollars worldwide! Also, Lionsgate has an interesting approach in regards to their movies. They only will invest up to half of the budget cost to reduce their risk. But still, it's pretty incredible how much money these movies have made and what kind of demented society we live in!
Just kidding, I like these movies...

i like the movies but it is following the trends of all horror movies...rendundancy... i cannot stand seeing a preview of a horror movie these days....they are all the same!!! thats what i liked about saw when it first came out, so clever, so unlike anything i had seen before...now the fifth one is coming out, i feel like i could never see and not see anything new...sure different scenarios, characters outcomes etc etc, but the same premise, making people appreciate life but bringing them to at least the brink of death, will likely be pretty good, will definetely sell, but i doubt ill spend money to see it

Saw 4 really disappointed me. I wasn't planning on watching Saw 5 until DVD but that pendulum trap clip was so intense it got me wanting to see this. I've liked Saw 1 and 3, not really liked 2 and 4 so 5 should be good for me according to that pattern.

I thought it was pretty good. It seemed less gory than the other movies. It went through a lot of flashbacks but was much less confusing than Saw 4. I see a lot of people didn't like it from other reviews but I'd probably give it 7.5 or 8 out of 10.

More story telling than anything else, I dont like where the story line is going. I think the story line could have been more creative. After all they showed their creativity in the traps throughout the series, so I guess I was expecting a better plot. It does not leave me wanting to see 6, the final one. I am hoping there is a twist in 6 otherwise I will feel like I wasted my time after the 3rd. Im vague because I do not want to say to much for those who have not seen it.
