The American Nightmare

Four out of Five Stars

This is a uniquely fascinating documentary which explores the often unnoticed sociological, philosophical and emotional need for horror films in American society. there have been many occasions in the history of America in which the horror flick has spearheaded major issues and brought the horror of reality into a metaphorical realm which passes for entertainment as it educates. This sophistication is as relevant as it is uncelebrated and The American Nightmare does a concise job in addressing this issue with tendor candor. Well worth the watch.
