review: Sick

There are few things left in life that can exist without limits. It is my opinion that art is one of them. Bob Flanagan was, above all, an artist. It is too bad that some people can't get over their insecurities enough to appreciate the more obscure artists. This film invites you to give expression the respect it deserves. Leave your judgments at the door and enjoy his mastery of body and passionate desire to be himself. If there is one feeling that this film inspires it is courage. Mr. Flanagan was a brave man who lived as many can never say they have... on terms that were completely self defined. A fascinating documentary about a beautiful and misunderstood man.
