Woody Allen seems to rediscover some of his early knack for silly comedy as well as his stand up work and incorporates it into his matured and expert storytelling skills for Scoop. For those who may have thought that his early slapstick stuff was a bit too ridiculous and that his heavy work was a bit too much, this is a great balance. I am a big fan of Allen and think that he is one of the great screenwriters of our time and with that being said, this is not near the top of my list of his best achievements. Nevertheless, Scarlett Johansson is witty and adorable and Hugh Jackman is intriguing and it all comes together as an entertaining and quality comedy.
