This film throws you right into the spin of cyclical abuse and neglect. It is difficult to tell where one issue ends and another begins for these characters. Hence, the convoluted chain reaction of chaotic familial disharmony and general dysfunction send our characters into a tornado of unpleasantness. Dennis Hopper is good but, as usual, Crispin Glover steals every scene that he is in and is brilliant. There are some interesting directorial choices from an interesting director, (what other word can you use but “interesting” for Tim Hunter who has directed varieties ranging from Beverly Hills 90210 to To Die For to this film), and the script is great. This film is real and a bit demented. A must see.
