I freakin loved this movie.....the ending confuses me even to this day......From what I understand all the murders happened in his mind (with his date book being how he expressed them).....what confused me was when he goes to the apartment, the realtor acts real shady towards him, like she knows what he did...but I think it was just b/c he was acting real strange.
great movie though.

actually.....the movie is based on the a very popular book...not sure of the name right now...wikipedia the movie and it shows it...
the book and the movie leave the ending with clues and hints to him actually doing the murders and it all being in his head....it leaves the reader or movie watcher to interpret the ending how they feel....
the book is more open and could be both
the movie scues your opinion to it all being in his head more...

Book was by Bret Easton Ellis and was very good. I love the line on the cover, "He earns a fortune on Wall Street to complement the one he was born with."

The point is that the wall street types back in the 80s (and still today) would kill you for money if they had the chance. Though they dont do it because its illegal, thats the mentality that they all have. Money and greed rule over everything to them.
He nver killed anyone.
Funny i saw this thread, though, because the other night i tried to watch american psycho 2 on demand. it starts with a little girl who "watched batemen kill her babysitter" and thats supposedly what messed her up.
I turned it off right then - how they could spend any money on a sequel that omcpletly misses the point of hte first movie is just pathetic.

Courtney...you're gonna have the peanut butter soup with smoked duck, and mashed squash. New York Matinee called it a playful but mysterious little dish. You'll love it. And then the red snapper with violets and pine nuts. I think that'll follow nicely.
