please compare...

i already finished watching the wire..and planning on watching the shield..should i expect anything?which is better?

never watched the wire, but used to watch the shield all the time and it was one of the best series ever IMO.....

I use to work with someone who was former LAPD.

He said " The Shield " was the only cop show that came close to how it really is

i would say the wire is better in every aspect.  better story, deeper, better written, more realistic.  that being said, the shiled is a great show and has more action.  you can't go wrong watching either show.

Loved The Shield. Never watched The Wire. Being born in Baltimore, I have a hard time bringing myself to watch a show that portrays the city as a massive ghetto (not that there's not more than enough of it though).

thanks guys

1st year of The Shield was top notch.

The Wire was one of the best TV shows ever created.

You really can't go wrong..........with either.

The Shield is equal to a PG-13 version of the Wire.
The Wire was done by HBO and its the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Both are exceptional.....some of the best TV ever created.

2 best television shows ever created.
