This may be an old topic, but I went to see this last night. Overall I thought it was a pretty good movie & yes the ending caught everyone by suprise. So am I correct that they are saying this Sociopath basically just walked away and continued on doing his thing? Set up for sequeal? Anyone have any insight into the movie?

no hollywood ending that the good guy always gets the bad guy

Javier crashes his car...is alert enough to get up a just walk away and Jones knows enough his time as a sheriff has passed him by and retires

always liked Coen bros movies...Fargo was a great flick as well

decent flick but more art house kinda feel....ending was a little weak for sure but I think that was the idea...the story just kinda ends...nothing left to say...

Yea poor ending, but Iove the old western style to this movie. Plus all the killing wasn't bad either. They should have had whats his name the sheriff caught or at least came close to catching the psycho killer.

Javier = Evil in society... When Tommy Lee Jones speaks at the end about retiring because he will never be able to stop the evil, it's only fitting that the car crash and Javier walking away from it is a metaphor per his monlogue... Great movie imo, even better ending.

i thought the point was that the world chews up and spits out anyone whether you are good or bad. its no country for old men.
 
i also thought it was vastly overrated.

What I liked about NCOM
 
Javier Bardem could be the greatest villain of all time. He stole every scene and basically redefined evil. Acting performances and cinematography was outstanding. First half of the movie was intense and just seemed to keep building up.
 
Now the bad stuff
 
So many flaws that I don't know where to start. The film leaves so many questions unanswered. No character development whatsoever. There are scenes and characters in the film that just lead us astray and have no business being in the final cut. The lead is actually killed off screen after following his every move for 2/3 of the film. WTF? More plotholes than swiss cheese. Now its considered the greatest film of the decade. Greatest thing since sliced bread since the critics don't understand it. Could be the most overrated movie of all time. It stands at #23 of all time on the IMDB list as I write this. I'd like to add that its the only film on this incredible list that lacks an ending. Believe me, I wanted to love this movie.

As stupid as it sounds I think its his haircut that makes him so fn scary looking.

The ending upset the hell out of me...Solid flick, but will not make it into my dvd collection when it comes out.
