    #3 Interstellar ??? REALLY ???

Shawshank Redemption an excellent selection @ #2. a number of movie sites rate it THE best picture of all time even over The Godfather and Citizen Kane

    my top ten dramas

The Godfather Epic Coppola's "directors cut" which is the chronological telling of the story with the 1st part Robert De Niro as Young Vito Corleone from Godfather II then the original Godfather with the ending being Al Pacino as Michael Corleone as Godfather from Godfather II

    Citizen Kane (1941)

    Casablanca (1942)

    The Right Stuff (1983)

    The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

    Alien (1979)

    Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

    The Professional (1994)

    Live and Let Die (1973)

    The Equalizer (2014)

    top five comedies

    What's Up, Doc? (1972)

    Let it Ride (1989)

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)

    Slap Shot (1977)

    The Producers (1968)

these are the movies I can watch over and over and NOT get bored

The Usual Suspects (1995) an excellent crime-mystery drama with an outstanding cast. Kevin Spacey with a Best Supporting Actor Oscar along with and Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. I rated it of four when reviewed. yet another movie I can watch over and over

NOT a big fan of Airplane (1980) or other Leslie Nielsen "stupid funny" comedies although in a survey in the UK it was judged the second greatest comedy film of all time, after Monty Python's Life of Brian. DOES have one of the all time great laugh lines in a movie, though >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM2K7sV-K74

Aliens definitely with more "action" BUT when the Mrs and I saw the original Alien back in 1979, it was THE most suspenseful movie we had EVER seen. just one "heart stopping" scene after another. I think Ridley Scott's "trick" was NOT ever really showing the whole "xenomorph" until the end of the movie and that made it even more scary

Such a personal thing.  I'd have to have Patton on any list.  Probably the Bridge on the River Kwai as well.  Would also have to give serious consideration to:
    Rear Window,
Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and
    Memento.
    Godfather 1 and 2.
    Goodfellas.
    Platoon?  Apocalypse Now?
JFK is a great film, except it makes a lot of stuff up.
    Gone with the Wind.
    True Grit.
Red River is one of the best films ever, until the last 15 minutes, which rather undoes all that came before.

It's tough to pick.......lot of good ones from the past.

"Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid"

     "The Sting"

     "LA Confidential"

     "Jaws"

     "48 hours"

     "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles"

     "Caddyshack"

     "Field of Dreams"

     "Saving Private Ryan"

     "The African Queen"

     "Raiders of the Lost Ark"

     "Animal House"

     "Goldfinger"

     "The Hustler"

     "Cool Hand Luke"

     "The Dirty Dozen"

Too many to just narrow it down to 10.

Pretty difficult to question any of those picks.

ahh....great lists all of these guys.
Mad Skills I see by your list that you are not only enamored with action flicks, but a wide array of drama's as well.
Unless youve already seen it, checkout  Daniel Day Lewis Epic film
    There will be Blood.

Shawshank Redemption is a very nice movie. One of the greatest movies ever made.

I'd like to add Hannibal Rising in the list.
