List some awesome movies about sports wagering

The only one I have seen is... "Two for the money"

Are there any other cools ones, that may have left you with a pumped up feeling?

Bookies

Fever Pitch with Ryan Oneal

What ever that movie was in the 70s or 80s with James Caan as the gambler

Bookies was ok.  Leonard from Big Bang did some decent acting.

Hardball w/ K. Reeves had an element of sportsbeiing, but I turn it off after he quits.

Can't really think of anymore.

The James Caan movie is called The Gambler!Pretty good he bets on basketball and gets chopped

The Gambler/ Caan is about the only one because there is no great sportsbet movie. There is no movie for sportsbetting like Let it Ride for horses or The Sting,or The Hustler, The Cincinnati Kid, or The Color of Money. The only other one I can think is Nine Men Out./ BlackSox scandal.

Two for the Money/ the Brandon Lang story and Bookies are jokes. This new one Lay the Favorite is DOA.

Read Smart Money or The National Football Lottery.

The only other one I can think is Nine Men Out./ BlackSox scandal.

actually it's Eight Men Out (1988). and it IS a VERY well made movie about that "Black Sox" scandle

another "under the radar" gambling movie is California Split (1974) with George Segal and Elliott Gould. it's kind of a "Rounders" meets "Let It Ride" comedy. GREAT poker game scene near the end with "Amarillo Slim" Preston as one of the players along with Segal. I wish that TCM or some other movie channel would run it in a "gambling marathon" sometime

btw, I would have liked to see a "Las Vegas Football Weekend" sequel to "Let It Ride". wouldn't have been hard to cast. after Richard Dreyfuss as Jay Trotter, David Johansen as Looney, Teri Garr as Trotters wife Pam and Jennifer Tilly as Vicki (who is now Looney's girl friend), you could have just used the characters one meets loafing in the Las Vegas superbook (formerly Hilton) on any football weekend.

Actually you wouldn't need to write a script just film a documentary any Sat/Sun @ Stardust. I remember sitting there Friday night and wannabes like LemBanker coming down to see what real gamblers were doing.

You're right LeRat 8men/9men I've murdered a million brain cells.

Vig or Money Kings....i forget the name of it. Freddy Prince Jr was in it and it was very good I thought for a made for tv movie

Here are some gambling themed movies that I like

The Sting
Let it Ride
Casino
The Cincinnati Kid
The Hustler
The Gambler
Rounders
Honeymoon in Vegas
The Grifters
Eight Men Out
Bad Lieutenant
Owning Mahoney
The Big Town
Maverick
The Longshot

awesome!!! thx

The Cooler was pretty good

EXCELLENT addition to the list

you can also add Even Money (2006) with Forest Whitaker, Kim Basinger, Danny DeVito, Ray Liotta and Tim Roth.
