I guess the Academy is going to drag out Oscar again
I too have only seen Lincoln of the films nominated. I will be VERY suprised IF it doesn't "sweep" all the major awards ex for Best Actress which the film doesn't have a nomination for. Sally Fields is nominated for Best SUPPORTING Actress probably because her part Mary Todd Lincoln isn't really that big in the movie.
I'm somewhat suprised The Hunger Games and it's female star Jennifer Lawrence were not nominated for anything. BOTH "cleaned up" in The People's Choice Awards. guess it wasn't "arty-smarty" enough for the Academy ![]()

Argo - Awesome flick and very tense from start to finish. How Affleck didn't nominated for Best Director is unexplainable. If I had a vote this would get best picture (Out of the nominations that I saw)
Lincoln - It was good but to be honest, I think it is overhyped. The movie is extremely long and tends to drag, Not ideal for viewing in a theater. I am sure this will win but as stated before, I think it's due to laziness and they love Daniel Day Lewis.
Zero Dark Thirty - Also very very good and very tense at times. There are some parts where it kind of drags overall, I thought it was done well. Not sure it deserves Best Picture buzz though but I guess Hollywood eats this type of stuff up.
My biggest regret was not seeing Life of Pi, I feel like in order to truly enjoy that film you needed to see it in a theater.
Lastly, I am surprised The Master didn't get nominated, I am still not sure what I saw when I watched it but seemed like with PTA as director and having Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman as your stars, Hollywood would have given them a nomination.

Affleck DID win the Critics' Choice Movie Awards Best director for Argo. his opening line in his acceptance speech was "I'd like to thank the Academy...." ![]()
Argo also won Best Picture, while Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor for his role in Lincoln and Jessica Chastain won Best Actress for Zero Dark Thirty. Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables, and Philip Seymour Hoffman took home Best Supporting Actor for The Master.
be interesting to see what happens at both the Golden Globe and directors Guild Awards
