hmm..seeing that the first book was released over a decade ago, i can guarantee you that many of the younger adults on this website grew up reading them...myself included...
So to answer your post...yah the books are meant for 12 year olds, thats about how old I was when I started reading them over a decade ago....now I am an adult

haven't read one of the books in years
...but have seen the movies, which is why it was posted in the first place.I'm a college kid in a major U.S. city, I probably go out too much...
