did Direct TV buy the rights to the series? i just saw a commercial on Direct TV that said new episodes coming only to Direct TV this fall. i loved the first season of the show but the second one turned into more of a soap opera but i would still be interested to see what the third season was like since ratings won't matter if it is only going to be aviable on Direct TV. anyone who knows anything and could confirm this would be appreciated

NBC would go on to renew the show for a full 22-episode second season after the first season was completed and Season Two episodes began airing on October 5, 2007.[2][3] Only 15 of these episodes were completed before production was stopped due to the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, leading to speculation that the show might be canceled. However, the show was renewed for a 13-episode third season; episodes will first air on DirecTV's The 101 in the fall and then be rebroadcast on NBC in the winter.
