I'm starting to feel my age as I realize that the bands I took for granted have run the course of their careers. I was fortunate enough to see Roger Waters twice in the last 8 months, but those were the only real big concerts I've seen since John C Mellancamp & REO Speed./Foreigner (separate events) @ The Gorge some 8-10 years ago. Yeah, I saw Pat Travers at a small bar in my area about 5 years ago.........Hoping to see Rush this month but it's at a venue that is a nightmare to get in & out of............& all the good seats are gone. Going to see Gordon Lightfoot in August @ a casino about 10 mins from my house, but after that......???

With bands like Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, & the like no longer really there.........who are we old folks to turn to?

Where is Lightfoot playing?  I might have to see him.  I've seen him 3 times live and loved every show. (Despite the fact that he called me a "little fucker" about 30 years ago.)

Perfect.  I think I'll try to hook myself up with tix and check out the show.  That'll give me a great excuse to get into an all-night poker session in the ol' Tulalip card room.

    Thanks for the info MUGG.

I drove from Knoxville, Tn to Lex, Ky in 1980 to see the Who, because "it would be my last chance" due to their retirement. Saw them again in 2000 in Tampa. As long as they can draw a crowd, classic bands will never go away. And Waters is an incredible show, even after all these years.

Another great show, seen them twice in the last few years. Hell, I've made an annual pilgrimage the last six years to see George Clinton; 60 some odd years old and still going.

My BIL saw the Who two nights before I saw Roger Waters in Seattle last Oct. on a spur of the moment whim............said it was an excellent show.

Saw where The Cure is coming to Seattle in a couple months.........might have to check that one out. Besides Steely Dan, I'm not really into the others.................but am feeling like I want to see all I can in the next couple years before they ALL go away.

Alice in Chains is touring with Velvet Revolver right now.  Obviously not with Layne Staley, but it's as close as you're going to get

Am feeling much older when dudes start putting Alice In Chains, the Cure, Pearl jam, etc in the category of classic rock.

I know the Atlanta show is October 3rd, that's the one I plan on going to.  I'm not sure they've even started selling tickets, so I still think you may have a bit before they would be around you.

Not sure how many of these i will get to but they are all in the month of August at the same venue not far from my house.  (20 minutes)

    Incubus
    Rush
    ZZ Top
    Poison
    Def Leppard

Lightfoot is playing here a few days before that Washington stop.   Would love to hear Edmund Fitzgerald Live.

On a slightly smaller scale to most of the referenced ones around here, but I'm really stoked to see Joe Walsh on August 23rd. I realize he's not going to be quite the same as say his live "The Smoker You Drink, The Player you get"....but I think it'll be a great show nonetheless.

    I hear ya...........

I really wouldn't put them in the "classic rock" catagory..........in fact, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Boston, REO, etc. might not even fit the bill as classic rock bands...............yet. I can't believe I've never been to an Aerosmith show...........seen Nazareth (they sucked) but not Aerosmith.

    Dennis...........I'd go to that show.
